re: estrogen
Yup, estrogen is stored in our fat cells-- I must have been a very estro’ lady, eh?
When weight is lost rapidly, the estrogen is released into our
bloodstream.
Well, that certainly explains why those guys suddenly appear more
attractive and we have fewer
nighttime headaches, eh?
Higher levels of estrogen
can increase fertility so it is important to plan for that by remembering to practice sensible sex and use adequate birth-control if one does not wish to enter mommyhood.
Higher levels of estrogen can also increase our
PMS symptoms.
All the men are thinking,
"Great! I'm already living with a swampwitch because she can't eat a bag of Peanut m&ms,
Cheetos and three pizzas and now we had to
intensify that by increasing her estrogen levels.
Argh!"
That’s when we say the acronym
PMS =
P sychotic
M ood
S hift…
Higher levels of estrogen can affect the
regularity of our menstrual cycles as well.
I had a hysterectomy 10 years before I Medifasted so I cannot tell you about my personal experiences but only share from my training and about general observations based on my nearly four years as a Health Advisor.
When I was on other low calorie, low fat diets in years past, my period temporarily stopped all together on several occasions. While I was on one of my continual diets, I became preggers in my mid-twenties and when I was not dieting, I was unable to do so.
Some women struggle with
intense cravings the first few months on the program and many report that eventually things even out and they feel good.
It takes
extra care,
diligence and discipline to remain program-compliant for some during
PMS.
When this happens we say that
PMS =
P rovide
M e with
S weets!
During this time, having a
chocolate Medifast Plus Appetite Suppression shake is helpful, eating every 2.5 hours, add an extra shake if needed, cultivate peaceful surroundings and get plenty of
rest and
exercise. Focus on the positive things you are doing for your health and think thinny thoughts!
