Thanks for all the kudos, fellow losers!
And Karen, I just realized that you started about where I did back in August, so hi there
I am so happy for you! The feeling that you have power over food is addictive! The more small victories you have--even those where you leave the fellowship hall (baby shower, Pampered Chef party) in a cold sweat because you made it by the skin of your teeth....the more that feeling of power, control and mastery will grow and become a habit.
I have to agree with Nancy wholeheartedly about making smart choices when caught out without a meal. I can be very airheaded at times and don't follow routines all that well, so it's good that I'm mostly a homebody with round the clock access to my Medifast cupboards! LOL
On those occasions when I have caught myself out and suddenly overwhelmed with pangs, I make the best choice possible. I don't have a lean/green every day, so most of the time I can find a grilled chicken salad someplace. If we go someplace a bit nicer, I go with the smallest, leanest steak on the menu (and sometimes have to cut off some of it and take it home) with a salad or steamed veggies.
Though I like milk, drinking it as a meal replacement would be my last resort, but I have done it!
The bottom line is accountability--I know I'm an airhead and the Medifast bars do help me with that but recently the ones I've ordered have been on backorder, so I'm a little lost--LOL Habits, habits, habits.
At any rate, I'm thrilled for you that you ignored the food and focused on you! One small victory at a time will win you the war in no time!
Susanna<--built a gingerbread house today, baked & decorated 2 dozen sugar cookies and a caramel-stuffed german chocolate bundt cake. DIDN'T EVEN LICK THE BEATERS!
I love Medifast!
