OK, so i've been on mf since around 5/17. i'm down 13lbs. since i started at 300, this is not huge. i'm actually getting really concerned. i posted sunday about this (and that maybe it was period weight), but the period is over and the scale hasn't budged. it's too early to plateau!

i am not giving up. i just ordered 5 weeks of mf as incentive to keep going (yes $300 is incentive). but there has to be a way to start losing again.

i usually do he complete fast, but sometimes i'll have a tuna/broccolli l-n-g meal instead of the 6th shake. do you guys think i should add a 7th supplement when i do complete fast? maybe the calories are just too low?

help!

You've lost 13 pounds in 20 days. You aren't going to magically lose all of the weight overnight.

Well here are my two cents.

You have only been on the program for 3 weeks. 13 lbs is alot in that short of time. Most seem to hit a plateau at week 3. Dont get discourged.

Are you seeing a doctor for the program? I ask because I wonder why you are on the fast. Most will say there is no difference in losing between that and the 5&1 plan. Your body may be in starvation mode from to little of calories and it might be better for you to switch to the 5 & 1 plan. Of course that is only if your doctor would agree and if you are not seeing a doctor I wonder why you decided to do the fast.

Anyway, stick with it, YOU CAN DO IT.

well, i don't have a working stove.
and i am a really bad cook... and it's easier for me to manage on the complete fast. i HAVE lost 100lbs on my own and kept it off, so i know my habits are much better.
the complete fast just really fits my needs better.
and i am very aware that the weight will take time to come off-- but i would think at my current weight it would be quicker.

my doctor thinks any effort is a good one. i'm in great health and she wants me to succeed.

i just don't know if a 7th supplement would help.

It does seem like you're already losing at a pretty good clip. But if your only question is whether an extra supplement will help, then my answer would be there's only one way to find out.

And I don't think I've used my stove more than a couple of times since I started Medifast a year ago.

Me either Dogma,

I use my george forman grill everyday or the microwave. You dont need a stove to make lean and green meals.

Good Luck to you csula2004.

Hi, CSU! 13+ lbs in 3 weeks!! That's TERRIFIC!
We started about the same place and that's about where I was. Hang in there. Remember that it's an AVERAGE loss of 2-5 lbs (more in the 2-3 lb range). Given your screenname, I take it you understand measures of central tendency -- you're STILL losing at a rate of 4+ lbs a week.

You know, it doesn't seem to matter how much more one is overweight after a certain point -- your body is going to determine the rate at which it sheds the weight. (That's also in either "Success in a Shaker Jar" or the "Lifestyles" book -- can't remember which one.)

Here's my self assessment: Based on my multiple experiences with Weight Watchers, I can expect to lose half a pound a week. My first week, I lost 11ish lbs. On WW, that would have taken me 22 weeks. Therefore, when I didn't lose as much the following weeks, and my family was trying to console me for that, my perspective was that I was already 21 weeks ahead! (Not that I'm always patient with this process!)

Hang in there! I wouldn't change anything until you notice you've gone over a week or two and nothing has changed (read: plateau).
Here's to our mutual success! :buddies: --Diana

Hi csu...you got some GREAT advice. If you're not drinking at least 100oz of water a day...start upping that water intake. Also, an extra shake MAY help. Like Robin said "there's only one way to find out". Since you're already on the full fast, an extra shake for a week shouldn't slow you down.

Stay encouraged :)

I totally agree with Joyce and Robin. It won't hurt you to add in an extra shake and see if it helps. The weight will come off and it will come off quicker on Medifast than any other plan out there.

Hang in there, we are all here for you.

i'm so happy!!!!

i feel like a goober, but i'm sooooo happy!

the only thing i did different is adding soy crisps as a snack once or twice over the last couple of days. it may be that 600 calories is just too low.
either way...
yay for all of us!!!

This is inspiring me to want to do a full fast...but I'm scared! lol

You say you have already lost 100# and kept it off...WOW...that's incredible. How did you lose that weight?
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Start Weight 326.7 ~ My short term goal will put me at 250!

sharon, just keep in mind that there really isn't an increased weight loss on the full fast as opposed to the 5 and 1 plan. Also, if you don't think you can stay on the full fast, just try it for a couple of days out of the week ~ just to switch it up a bit and keep your body confused. I think the confusion sometimes helps us peel off the pounds, especially when plateau-ing.
