Frosting and NO taste testing!!!

Postby FluffyNoMore » May 28th, 2006, 10:49 pm

My son's birthday party is tomorrow and I made his cake and frosted it tonight and I didn't taste any of the frosting! Usually I'm stealing a spoonful here and spoonful there...;) Not this time. I didn't even want to...as I was making the frosting I got really grossed out by it...all that shortening and butter, never mind the confectioners sugar.

Do you think I'm cured? LOL!

Mornin' Jen-
I've got the same challenge later this week; I'll use you as my inspiration!
Thanks!
Amber

Way to go! That is a really hard test and you passed with flying colors! Yep I think if you are not totally cured yet you are well on your way....either way though you are a winner(and a loser at the same time)

Hi there,
You did great!!! I think you're coming right along with your new way of thinking and eating. Just think of all the calories each of us has consumed over the years just having a "taste of this and a taste of that".
But no more for you!!! And, you're right most of those little tastes don't even taste that great. Gooooood for you!!!

Yay Jen! :D And sugar tastes so yucky-sweet, after being without that type of thing for a period of time.

Just think of all the calories each of us has consumed over the years just having a "taste of this and a taste of that".

Isn't THAT the truth. Funny how cookie batches come out half the size from the oven than when they're mixed

Hi fluffy,

WTG! I know how good it feels not to give in on the temptation, I decorated one or two cakes a week for about 5 weeks now, because of all of the events that I have. And boy... it's hard not to give in, but now i have gotten so used to not having cake, it really did not bother me... So I guess we both graduated from that huh? ;)

WOO HOO!

I know how hard that is. I had to make two cakes and frost them on Thursday for my girls school. Then on Saturday I made cupcakes and frosted them for the rest of the family. They sure looked good but getting thin is so much better.

Great Job!
