freezing cold

Postby stacie4 » June 5th, 2007, 12:52 pm

Hi do you guys seem to be colder on the MF plan? I was always a hot person and I have goosebumps all the time now. Has this happened to anyone and do you know why?? I certainly still have meat on my bones to keep me warm-haha.

In the beginning I had it. I used to yell at my husband for turning on the heat and now I was yelling at him that I was too cold! I didn't know if it was the diet or all the cold water I was drinking.

I'm quite often too cold and when I check the temp in the house it is 72° so I just figured it had something to do with my metabolism during this program.

Its basically a fact of weight loss. When you are puting less fuel into the body, you use the fuel you have and you begin to lose some of the extra insulation that has kept you so warm.
During the fat burning state our bodies have changed the way that they burn what fuel we are using and thus, our body chemistry is changing.
Also, during a fast weight loss, our bodies have less time to adjust to these changes and it can throw off our equilibrium with regards to heat.

Its all a byproduct of the plan and the weight loss. Perhaps not an enjoyable one, but just think of how great you will feel when its done.

I am so looking forward to that. Last summer I was wearing business wear and now I can wear shorts and sundresses!

I found myself feeling cold more often when I started, and now even on maintenance I don't get as hot as I used to (the lack of calories at first, and now a lack of insulation).

Just throw on a sweater and you'll be fine.

BTW, Stacie, how are you doing? Is the extra protein helping?

Yes I am doing better. I have watched my protein more and switched out a bar for a shake to mix it up a bit. Thanks for asking. This is the first day of summer for my kids to be out and it is already a stressful day, I find myself wanting to munch. It is always something I guess and we have to learn to deal with it.

Hang in there. It does get better as you learn other ways to deal with situations like that (since food is out of the equation). Glad to hear you're doing better, though.
