You look terrific! I love the new haircut too. I've had long hair most of my life and I had grown my hair out to all one length down to the middle of my back. I got it cut to about your length a couple of months ago and I love it! We have similar haircolor too :)

Keep it up because you are doing so well!!! You are a beautiful girl :o and I am sure you are feeling so much better.

You can thank Lane Bryant for that... even though that oufit was from Spiegel or something. LOL! That darned store let me be so complacent with how big I was.

Thank you everyone. I've never ever had success like this though and I had to take a picture because EVERYONE I know was saying something and I couldn't see it. I just have to be really careful about talking too much about it at home because of my kids. My 10 yr old daughter is like my mini me...she does everything I do and I don't want her to worry about her weight...so I'm stressing healthy choices and not my weight.

Jen,

I know what you mean. My husband and I adopted 2 little girls from China that are 5 and 7 now and I am so concerned about them having the proper outlook on health versus weight. My husband says that I am being overly sensitive because I've always had weight issues and self-esteem issues; but I don't think I am. Yes, I will be sensitive to it but I don't think I am wrong to watch and be careful.

I feel the same way that you do. I have always tried to steer clear of certian words - fat, big, heavy, ugly, etc. Just recently my 7 year old has realized that I am not "like the other Mommies" in my size. All her classmates have thin Moms. She hasn't said anything but I've caught her looking at me up and down and then she notices I've seen her and she will run to me and hug me and say "I love you just the way you are!". Out of the blue! She's done a few variations of this recently which has made me concerned.

She is your typical slender Chinese girl except she has recently "pudged" a bit in her tummy and is growing by leaps and bounds. My husband will grab at her tummy and make "cute" comments and I stop him. Again, he doesn't get it. So we had a long talk and I think he understands what the issues can be for young girls and has agreed to tone that down and stress the word "healthy" instead of - too much of this will make you fat!

I have a wonderful, loving husband who is the best father in the world -but in this area, he doesn't know what he is talking about and is leaving it to the expert - HA!

You are beautiful! If you look that good with 60 lbs still to lose, you're going to be a major knock-out at goal.

Thanks for sharing your pictures!

Michelle,

It's so true. I was always the tallest girl in school, the one who hit puberty first..etc..and at home my father in some attempt to "help" me, told me I was fat...I wasn't. And from that moment on I struggled with my self confidence. He incessently loved to tell me that I need to watch what I'm eating etc or I'd be as big as a house. After I had some hormonal issues and he saw how much I was struggling and how emotionally beat I was, he stopped, but I had endured 20+ yrs of it from him and my brothers...over Christmas my brother called me tubby...I'm 33 yrs old he's 31...it was SO appropriate.

After I put on tons of weight I just gave up and was so complacent about what I looked like because I had tried so hard for years and nothing worked...so I really only looked at myself from the chest up in mirrors..avoided having my picture taken(which is sad because there are very few pictures of me in the last 8 yrs) and really ignored what I looked like.

My point is that I don't ever ever want my daughter to feel what I felt about myself growing up.

And you didn't deck him? I'm very impressed by your self-restraint.

I asked him if he took a good look in the mirror lately or if he had one of those magic mirrors that lies to him.

JEN,

Sorry I missed seeing your picture earlier, after everyone else has said just about everything there is to say!

You are losing your 'fluffyness' and your name is surely 'prophetic'! At least now I know who that "FluffyNoMore" girl looks like when I read your cool posts!

Looking good! Yessiree!
