Fluctuating scale?

Postby lise » April 6th, 2006, 5:50 am

I am noticing that my scale is all over the map these days. One day it will say I lost 2 pounds, the next day, it will say I gained 10! I've never cheated on the diet,I've been faithful, measuring everything and drinking my water.

Is my scale out of whack or am I justb losing my mind? Or both?

Hi Lise,

What kind of scale do you have? I noticed Digital ones are more accurate.

It's a Sunbeam digital scale.

Digital scales are more accurate so I'd say this one is toast. I just don't believe a ten pound swing is possible in 24 hours.

Hmmm! If it's showing that much fluctuation, then I think one of two things is happening:

1) It's your TOM, my scale goes hay-wire during this time....one day it shows 6 # increase....one day 4# increase! I try not to pay much attention to those numbers till TOM passes!

2) Scale is out of whack...need to get a new one!

Am I good at problem solving or what ? 8) ;) ....no...just kidding!

But do let us know how this turns out!

any possibility the batteries are running low? Also, are the weights coming in at different times, like weighing yourself at night and in the morning?

I weigh myself at the same time every day. This is not TOM for me, and I am thinking my scale is out of whack. I'm going to return the scale tonight and buy another one. Hopefully that one will work better!
