Postby CBBUTLER2 » April 6th, 2006, 4:10 pm

I grilled it and put that Worerauce(have no idea how to come close on the spelling) sauce and they smelled so good.
I know we can have turkey but I am not sure how much.
so I ate chicken,salad,mushrooms.cucumbers.

If it is turkey breast I know you can have a full 7oz like with chicken and seafood so next time enjoy one yourself (just don't have the bun)

Careful with the Worschestershire (?) sauce though, it may have calories/fat and I'm sure it has a lot of salt. Best to look at the label first.

Just looked this one up and Worcestershire has 3.31 carbs per Tbsp. according to the USDA.

Yep. Mine's listed at 5 calories, no fat and 1g carb per teaspoon. So certainly no worse than ketchup, and you probably use a lot less. I put a splash in my cream of broccoli soup sometimes. I don't think it's even a whole teaspoon's worth.

So I can have 7oz. of lean ground turkey? Hmmm, I may get some of that this weekend. I'm not a huge fan of burgers, but it may be a nice change.

Make sure it's ground turkey BREAST, though. The regular ground turkey has dark meat (and I think sometimes even some skin) mixed in.

When I make my turkey, I do it two ways...

One I can beat one of my crackers packages and add it, add some minced onions, a little ketchup, mush it all up and make meatloaf. It is great, even my family likes it..... but is will also count as your snack.

or I make turkey burgers and add some chopped green chili's, lots of spices, minced onions again and grill those babies.. My husband prefers turkey burgers now to ground beef.

We are so going to be healthy.... I LOVE THIS !!!!

We have a lot of turkey products. Ground turkey for meatballs, turkey sausage and of course, regular turkey. It's pretty good and much leaner. I can't really tell the difference anymore.

I've been using ground buffalo and gorund turkey instead of ground beef. Both are better, I think.

I need to order me some of the crackers. I have been wanting meatloaf so bad.
I usually buy the already made turkey patties but this time I bought turkey breast so I will have to make my own.

I highly recommend the crackers. They're pretty inexpensive, too. I like the garden vegetable ones better. The others tasted kind of bland to me.

Wait...so I could have turkey sausage? How about breakfast sausage made of a turkey meat? Does this even exist?

Most of that stuff is not turkey BREAST. Other parts of the turkey are much higher in fat, just like with chicken. Chicken or turkey legs and thighs have more fat and calories than many cuts of beef.
