OMG I was so thrilled to see that you were back too. I started over with a totally new name. Used to be falisamarie. I am so glad to see that all the 3 muskateers back at it. We can do this. I gained all of my weight back plus 3 for good measure. I know that this time we all can do it!

Hey girl!! It's so good to hear from you.

Yes...the three musketeers are back and I just know that we can do this if we stick together.

Yesterday was my first really difficult day I have had. I was hungry all day long...not my stomach..my mouth. I just wanted to eat. I stayed pretty much on plan (ate a little extra chicken) and got through it just fine.

Keep me posted on how you are doing!

Welcome back guys!!

I was wondering if you have any advice for us on what went wrong in your transition so maybe we won’t make the same mistakes. I am so worried that once I transition it will all come back, you know the Oprah syndrome. I know this is not Optifast but it is a calorie restrictive diet, which means I am sure we have to be very careful during transition. Exercise often and introduce foods slowly.

AmandaRose-

I ate some chicken in a restaurant and got salmonella. I was really, really sick and ended up in the hospital. This was 2 months into my Medifasting.
Anyway, when I was getting better, all I could eat was mashed potatoes and all I could drink was ginger ale. To make a long story short, I got back on the carbs and didn't have the willpower to stop.

I started back a few times, but never really stuck to it for more than a few days. This year I am going to do it and keep it off. I still have the new clothes I bought last year and cannot wait to get into them again.

My son asked me to get back on the program when I asked him what he wanted for Christmas. What could I do? Of course I am back on program!

Also...I am a type 2 diabetic and within 4 weeks of starting the program last year, I was completely off insulin (2 shots a day) and completely off my oral meds (2 tablets a day). I know this program works.

I am sorry to hear about the Salmonella, poisoning that must have been really hard to go through. This program does work and I agree with you, I have lost 40lbs already and my husband who is a diabetic lost 20lbs and went off his diabetic meds. Although he was just on oral meds not injections. He has since lost 20lbs more after going off MF and is maintaining.
Well welcome back and good luck to you on your journey this time with the chicken!!!! Make sure it is dead and well done lol.. what a terrible this to have to go through.

I am so happy that you are back on track - you had a rough experience and those open-backed green gowns are not very attractive, eh?

As you discovered, eating high carb foods tends to make us want more and more. :eat:

The great thing about Medifast meal replacements is they are a good balance of protein and carbohydrates. We need both to maintain good glucose readings and to :whip: keep hunger away. Amanda :rose: Rose, when you reach the final step in transition, it will serve as the 'skeleton' or outline for how we will eat for the rest of our lives. If we continue to eat nutritiously balanced small meals, remain aware of fats and sugars, choose foods as much in their natural state as possible rather than processed foods and refined sugars and remain active, weight management is possible. :kool:

Often what happens is people suddenly stop the 5 & 1 program with its low fat/low calorie small meals and do not gradually increase the caloric intake and do not exercise- eating mostly processed foods that are high in fat and sugar then BLAMO, flabber rapidly returns because those fat cells remember their former selves.

You have several reasons (those form the ‘structural tensions’) that motivate you to reach a healthy weight: those smaller clothes, no more insulin and pills, better heart health, increased likelihood of having better vision, improved healing properties and fewer circulation problems because your diabetes will be in remission. :x Dang! :whattha: Fear of needles helps to keep my mouth sealed when I am tempted to eat killer foods!

Hi guys - not sure you will remember me - I was her last year - I lost 36 lhs - my father was terminally ill - he passed away at the end of may. I still wanted to lose another 30lbs, but I did maintain the loss for a while. I did end up slowly gaining back 8lbs. I keep telling myself I need to do this again - but I am having a hard time getting myself to DO it!! I keep coming here and reading, trying to pump myself back up. Seeing you guys here gives me more motivation - I am going to try to restart tomorrow.
