First week, lost 5 pounds!!!!

Postby horselady » April 8th, 2005, 7:39 am

I just completed my first week on the 5 and 1 program, and have lost five pounds. I am so excited. I haven't had any problems adjusting to the program, and feel great.

:D

Congratulations~ You are doing it!
I must say this is my 5th day and I'm so excited that I'm actually sticking to a diet for more than 24 hours...I've already weighed myself twice! I know it should just be once a week, but it's been so long since I've seen the scale go DOWN!
I can almost hear your excitement! You'll be sportin' a bathing suit in no time at all! Keep up the good work! Krissie

Krissie--this completes my day 3, so I am right behind ya! I know how you feel about not cheating! I almost got weighed yesterday and again today JUST TO SEE but decided to wait till Monday. Is it crazy to think my face already LOOKS thinner? Wishful thinking? Good luck! Lee Ann

Hey, your face probably does look thinner....you're not bloated with all that salt and junk in your body....I feel thinner too! Hey at least we're thinking positively, right? Who cares if we're imagining it. I definitely think the first week people debloat (is that even a word). Are you starting to get less hungry? I kind of am...day 3 was the absolute worst for me, so I hope you're fairing better than I was! Keep up the good work.....let's try to wait until MOnday for the weighing huh? It's going to be difficult! How much do you want to lose? Keep trucking along, we'll do it! Krissie

I want to lose abt 80 lbs. My first goal is to get to 45 lbs. I have to set small, more realistic goals or I will give up. 45 sounds better than 80 to me!!! I am glad you said that about day 3 being hardest. It got harder this evening. I think I am getting used to the calories going down. I went to the grocery store before I ate dinner (which made dinner much later than usual) and I swear I thought I was going to pass out. My head was pounding. I couldn't get home fast enough! I have already drank all the water for the day-70 oz. I will work my way to 100 or 110 like I see a lot of successful posters are doing. I think I am going to have an extra shake in a bit if I cannot get rid of the headache. It's nice that we are only a few days apart in our start days. I think the support on this website is going to make all the difference. BTW, its a deal--we will wait till Monday to weigh!
It looks from your ticker like we are trying to lose the same amount. Are you doing the 5 and 1?

Lee Ann~
It's very normal to feel like that the first few days! My head was pounding and my stomach was grumbling so much and hurt so bad I felt like I was going to throw up! Of course I had NOTHING to throw up! :?
You were very brave to go to the store BEFORE you ate dinner. I usually want to buy one of everything when I go to the store hungry! It is cool that we've started around the same time. There are so many people on here that have been at it for a while....they have lost 20, 30, 40, 50 pounds....it's good motivation. I seriously didn't realize how much I had to lose until I did the ticker. I was like holy s**t I have 76 pounds to lose in order to get to my goal weight! I guess I didn't realize how high on the scale I got! Oh well, Monday was the heaviest I will ever be, so I guess it doesn't matter. This website, along with my husband keeps my honest and humble! Hang in there, it gets better, I promise.....I still get hungry after about 2.5 to 3 hours, but not like I did before. I was ravenous! Anyway, I'm actually going to have my lean and green at a Vietnamese Noodle House tonight. I get a small soup with white meat chicken (about 4 oz.), broccoli, cabbage, and bean sprouts, plus the chicken broth. It works out perfectly and I can go out to dinner. I kind of get weird looks when I go to a noodle house and ask for no noodles, but I'm ok with that! Have a great night and just remember it gets easier! Take Care, Krissie

Krissie--what a good idea at your eating out venture for the lean and green. Hope it went well. I dread going out to eat. When I was low carbing it, it was easier. On MF its just easier for me to stay away! My husband is all about going out to eat. I imagine it will get easier for me to go once I am on this for a few weeks. Day 4...weekends are usually hardest for me for some reason. I am going to clean up a bit and put the baby down for a nap then run errands after she gets up. That will get me out of the house for the long evening when for some reason I am most tempted (husband is out of town). Have a good day 6! Lee Ann

Lee Ann~
I have a hard time on the weekends too. I always think, I worked all week so I should get a treat or something. My husband and I have a hard time with that. It's a little easier this weekend since I came to visit my mom. I feel uncomfortable eating like pig in front of her, especially since my weight has increased dramatically in the past year. How old is your baby? I don't have any kids yet, just a dog named Daisy. She's quite a handful just by herself ;) . Is your stomach a little less talkative on day four? It sucks feeling like that, but it will pass eventually. Pretty soon we'll be shakin' our stuff in a cute little outfit  Hope you have a great weekend.....I haven't weighed myself yet...very tempted though  ! Talk to you soon! Krissie
