First Day!!!

Good morning, all....

I have spent the last week reading almost every entry in this forum.... I must say it is VERY Motivational.

I am prior military (GO NAVY!) and since separation from service (only ONE year ago) I have suffered from complete hearing loss in my right ear in which the dr's decided to put me on steroids.... (gained at least 20 # from that) Granted that was in January-March and since I've only gained another TEN POUNDS. So that puts me at a total of 30 #'s in one year. :(
Right now, I'm 5'10" and 234lbs.... haven't weighed that much since i was 7months pregnant! :cry: So here goes!

My friend and I are attempting the Medifast plan, and I am very excited to see results. I had my shake this morning... (vanilla w/ a dash of Fruit punch Crystal light)... not bad. Trying oatmeal next! I know i will need this forum for support and it looks awesome and a great group of people! I look forward with chatting with all you while tracking my progress...

my downfalls are FOOD!! :lol: Cookies, Ice Cream, Cakes, Fried foods, you name it... if it's bad for you i probably love it. NOT GOOD. I want to get healthy for me and also to set the example for my 4 yr. old daughter. I don't want to be the 'fat mom' when she starts school. :cry:

So a thank you in advance for those who will get me through this journey through the use of this support forum!! Hope to hear from you all soon! Wish me luck!!!! :D

Thanks to those who have replied already......

I have my log in now!

Ate the maple/brn sugar for my 2nd meal..... it wasn't bad at all!

Soup's on for this afternoon.... hope it is as good as the oatmeal! :D

FWIW I can totally empathize with your craving of cakes, ice cream... etc. I was the same way. I can say WAS, because the most amazing thing has happened while being on this plan. I've lost my "taste" for that kind of food! YAYAYAYAYAY.

Whew.... Thanks Carmel.... it's good to know that there is someone out there who lost the taste for the bad stuff! Hopefully I will reap those same benefits....

I will say, that i knew i was starting MF today, so i have TOTALLY pigged out ALL weekend on all the stuff i love and I realized something..... After i ate all the food that tasted soooo good, i felt horrible! Food is NOT your friend, right? I use food as a feel good crutch, and i want to rid myself of that handicap!

Had a choco shake for my 3rd meal, and it was awesome with nothing added to it! So far, so good! ;) and not too hungry (YET!)

WELCOME to the Forum and Medifast! I gained 25+ pounds after retiring from the Army in 2003, so I know where you're coming from (only I did ALL without the help of steroids!).

The first 2-3 days are the hardest, but soon you will feel great - and the pounds will melt off!

Well, Day one under my belt! and it wasn't that bad... Here's what I had:

Vanilla Shake
Oatmeal
Choco Shake
Chkn&Rice Soup
L&G: Teriyaki Chicken breast and mixed veggies...YUM

I plan on having a pudding for dessert and then going to bed early to beat any oncoming hunger pains/cravings. :snooze:

This forum is great... to see all of you and your great successes... definitely moving!
