Postby Bridejuly06 » March 27th, 2006, 12:26 pm

Hello, today is my first day on medifast and so far so good. believe it or not I am not hungry but that is probably do to some appetite pills that i take. they are wonderful! i am trying to lose around 35 pounds before my July 29th wedding. Any brides or non-brides out there need a buddy? Please send me an e-mail. I just tried that strawberry shake. I am hopeful that the other flavors are better.

First of all I would like to say congratulations on your up and coming wedding!!! May you have many years of bliss!

As far as the shakes go, I have to agree with you on the strawberry. The rest are definitely better, strawberry is my least favorite.

Best wishes on your diet journey, you will definitely reach your goal.

Hi. I am new too. I don't even have my stuff yet. Anyway, I would be a buddy if you'd like. Where do you live? I am really hoping I can find someone close to me. The forums are nice, but someone live and in person is even better. Anyway, I am not a bride, but rather a wife. I was a fat bride, though. I hope to be thin when we renew. We will have our 8th anniversary in May. For our 10th, we plan to renew our vows in Hawaii!! It will be so nice to be thin and have our kids there with us.

BrideJuly06 ... Welcome to the Party!

:partytime:

The MF plan can be difficult in the beginning but it DOES get easier. The best part is that if you follow the plan, you WILL lose the weight. No more wondering if you'll lose the weight b/c you will. Hang out on the boards as often as you can and you will find as much motivation and inspiration as you can handle.

Welcome!

I haven't gotten my stuff yet either. Hopfully tomorrow. I don't even think it has shipped yet. I would love to have a buddy. I am in Virginia also so totally cool. I am married just recently and wore a 16 dress. I felt beautiful on my wedding day though believe it or not. I had lost 20 pounds doing everything in the book and felt very svelte hehhe. Not that I was but I decided that no way was my weight going to affect that day when it had affected every single day of my life.. Maybe it was all the booze too hehehe:) Any ol way sorry to ramble but I am starting the day after I get my stuff and will post my pic then. I tried taking one myself but I think I am going to have to get my husband to do it so it is a full view.

Welcome, Bride! (And others!) Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals!!

I have found that I definitely prefer the shakes blended with ice. So far, my favorite is the chocolate. And I've got to say the puddings are absolutely the key for me!! You can freeze them for a sort of ice cream.

Most of the soups are good (they may need a little salt or garlic or boullion).

Find the Lean Cuisine heading farther down on the main forum screen -- there are lots of alterations or "recipes" for the foods. And there's a heading under which you can post packets to trade. (I believe there's also a clothing exchange.)

Here's to our mutual success!!

Hello Bride to Be and Welcome! If you will register on the forum we will be able to send you personal emails. Then each time you log in you will get a pop up message telling you've got mail waiting.

I'm getting married in June of this year. Tomorrow marks 3 months on Medifast for me and I'm down a little over 30 lbs. I am so thrilled I decided to try this plan and have no intentions of stopping short of reaching my goal. I already feel great and can only dream how great I will feel in June!

Feel free to send me a PM!

Welcome to you, Bridejuly06 ~

I was a July bride, too. Our 36th anniversary is on July 3rd.

I weighed 140 pounds on July 3, 1970. Beginning July 4th, 1970 my weight was on an upward climb!

This anniversary as well as the last three, I weighed less than on our wedding day because of the BeSlim Philosophy and so can you! I still have my wedding dress after all these years and thanks to the Take Shape For Life Program, my wedding dress is too big!

You can EASILY lose 35 pounds by July IF you follow the program.

The way to do it is simple.

Eat every three hours, drink a lot of water and do not cheat.

Find a great tailor; you will need one.

I started in July of 2002 weighing 267 pounds and I lost 59 pounds in 12 weeks.

You have more than 12 weeks until July, it will be a piece of cake to lose 35 pounds!

I went on to lose a total of 135 pounds of flabber.

I would like to suggest that you reconsider the idea of taking appetite suppressants.

When you follow the Take Shape For Life 5 & 1 Program, you will soon realize that hunger and cravings go away. Naturally.

There are no stimulants or questionable herbs in our products. There really is no need for pills or shots. Soy is a natural appetite suppressant.

Believe me; during my many years of obesity and yo-yo dieting, I have done it all: Shots, pills, weird concoctions, unhealthy fad diets, etc. The side effects are not healthy and some can lead to major problems.

With our Medifast products, we lose weight with heart-healthy soy protein and good food.
Our program is nutritious and the food tastes good. This is not a DIEt but a meal plan that is proven and safe.

Rather than relying on a pharmaceutical approach with some potential nasty side effects and extra expense, the TSFL program has us eating every three hours. Our program incorporates low glycemic meals and our blood sugar does not dip or spike; therefore we feel good, have excellent energy and we lose weight - our body releases the stored fat, leaving our muscle tissue intact.

We do have some Medifast Plus Appetite Suppressant shakes that contain Medifiber, made from the pulp of a south Asian fruit. It does not stimulate the central nervous system and is all-natural. Most people have no hunger after the third or fourth day on our 5 & 1 Program and few people feel the need for the appetite suppression shake.

During weight maintenance, we are no longer in the fat-burning state of ketosis and if we do not eat often enough, we can feel hungry at times. Some people on weight maintenance use the Appetite suppression shakes to prevent hunger break-thru in the afternoon or evening.

I know you will do well on the program if you keep focused. You should easily be able to lose your weight and slip into the perfect wedding dress and into the arms of the man of your dreams!

P.S. The Strawberry shake is very good when made in a blender or a magic Bullet. Put 8 ounces of water in the blender and whip on high until it is really fluffy and creamy. You can add a tad bit (1/8 – ¼ teaspoon) of the dry powder mix of Crystal Light Raspberry Ice™ and it will enhance the berry flavor of the strawberry shake. Add some ice until it is frosty. I think the fruity drinks are very good if they are icy cold. It makes a world of difference.

Hi I live in Woodbridge Virginia so perhaps we do a weekly chat or meet for salad and grilled chicken (How exciting) I can't thank everyone enough for the encouraging words. Today is day two and one more day and I hope it is down hill from there. I am going out of town this weekend which will be the big challenge. i am going to stay focused. Does anyone know if we can eat rotisserie chicken? just curious...

Rostisserie chicken would be just fine as long as it wasn't coated w/ oil or butter. Make sure you always READ the ingredients. It's amazing how much stuff they sneak in our food and we don't even realize it. Just be educated and aware and you will do just fine.

Make sure you remove the skin. And bear in mind that it will be higher in fat than skinless chicken even then, because the meat absorbs fat when it's cooked with the skin on. (And also it depends on what part of the chicken you're eating. Thigh meat, for instance, has more fat than some cuts of beef.)

Thanks for the pertinent comments, Robin. I would not suggest eating Rotisserie chicken for that very reason.

I got ‘stuck’ at a potluck dinner one day and I saw the grease in the bottom of the plastic deli container. I had a small serving of the breast meat, removed all skin and the little string of visible fat along the edge. I even blotted the meat.

I know that there are times that busy people just get strapped for a quick fix. Been there.

Shrimp or crab meat is totally instant – Grab a bagged salad and ½ pound of cooked shrimp or crab meat at the fish market. Instant supper!

Getting skinny CAN be gourmet!
