Finally posting my picture

Postby 2getskinny » April 3rd, 2007, 10:52 pm

Hello everyone-
I have finally decided to dig & dig until I found a photo of myself to post on here as my starting photo.........unca will post it when he gets a chance to as I emailed it to him. :) Yes Yes look at the tripple chin action and that would be a 3X sweater I am wearing, YIKES! This is our Company Dinner party we had for all our Employees in December. I don't have many photos of myself as I always hide and take the photos so I don't have to be in them.

Well I am finally trying to restart yes yet again, I just found out My husband and I will become grandparents for the first time in November of this year and this is when it hit me big time. I want to be healthy for myself and I want to be healthy for my Girls and especially my grandbaby who will be here before we know it. I don't want to be like I am now. SO I thought if I posted my picture it would make me want to prove to myself that I can do this and make myself look and feel better. I have also made an appointment to quit smoking, they couldn't get me in until May 3rd but that's ok I made the apt. They will use a laser on my pressure points & this is supose to make you quit smoking and quit craving the smoking. My Mother's Co-worker did it 2 weeks ago and she was a VERY heavy 3 pack a day smoker and she hasn't smoked or want to smoke since her laser treatment, and she had smoked for over 30 yrs. SO this is worth a shot to me, I would love to quit and loose this weight so I can be healthy again and get MYSELF back. I want to be ME again. So I am not a failure........I am not. I just fell off for a bit and now I am willing to get back up and try again. :)

It is still a nice picture of you and you aren't doing anything embarrassing and have a pretty smile on your face. I have definitely seen worse before pics! Let me know how those smoking treatments go because my smoking gets worse everyday the longer I don't drink and stay on this diet. In rehab, they call that "switching addictions." I definitely did. I am mini-plateauing so badly right now my only hope may be hacking up part of my lung.

Hey 2GS~ You are very pretty and look entirely too young to be a grandmother. ;)

I know exactly what you mean when you say you hide from pictures. I have been doing this for years. I often say my children won't be able to remember me when I'm gone because there are very few photos of me.

I'm so glad you picked yourself up and decided to get back to it. I can't wait to share in your joy the day you post your after pictures.

CONGRATULATIONS on starting again to get fit, healthy and more beautiful!.
Such a nice, happy picture of you. Lovely smile, hair and eyes!
By November when the happy event arrives, you will be well on your way to goal---maybe even all the way. It's been done!
I love your colorful top (sweater?). I would hate to give that up, but of course it will be plenty worth it!
Anyway, we are so happy you are making a fresh start and are on this journey with us!

Thanks everyone! Thanks Unca for posting for me. :)

Biki Yes I will let you know how the treatment goes. My apt. is May 3rd at 2PM. :) I am nervous as I use my smoking as a means to stay away from food & junk when I am trying to stivk to my MF. But they said it puts you back to the state as if you never had smoked so that you wont want or crave. So Its worth a shot.

I am excited for my grandbaby, But I want to be thin, So I really hope to stick to this program and get health before the baby is here. I think once I get past the first 3 weeks It will be nice so that I can get on my treadmill. I do love walkin on it. Young grandma.........Ya I will be a young grandma @ 38 (on the 15th) & my DH is 42. My DD will be 21 so she is a young to be mommy.

Ok got to go here, Be back soon. :)

It does sound like it is worth a shot. I gave up drinking one day and started Medifast 2 days later and I have most definitely used cigarettes as a replacement for snacking urges and for nerves. If I take a nap I notice when I get up I am slightly hungry or empty feeling but a cup of decaf spicy tea and a few ciggies and I am back to normal.

See over the years I have been an emotional eater, Anytime I get upset or feeling depressed I would turn to food, even knowing I wasn't hungry & when smoking came into play it helped a lot. And that part scares me because once I quit what will happen with my journey. So I really hope they are right and it puts me back to the natural state before I even thought of smoking. That would be a good thing. & not to have the withdrawls. My Mom's co-worker is still not smoking since her treatment, and she was a heavy smoker. so there is hope. :) May 3rd won't get here soon enough IMO, I just hope I am down a few pounds by then. :)

Oh my gosh -- you SO don't look like you are anywhere near age to become a grandmother!! It is your son or daughter having a baby?
That is so exciting!

Well when that sweet little one gets here, grandma will want her picture made with that sweet little thing! And just think how hot granny's going to look!! :D

Did someone say cigs??

Postby sunshinekpc » April 5th, 2007, 5:47 pm

All this talk about smoking has made me craving them now!!! I have been quit now for almost 3 months and I feel so much healthier. I used the new drug out now, Chantix. You are supposed to use it for I think 3 months, but it made me so sick on my stomach, I barely got a whole month down, but it worked. Its the first thing that has worked in 6 years and Im only 25!! Sad I wasted 6 years of my life smoking! Anyway, I wish everyone who is trying to quit the best of luck and it does get easier as time goes by!! Good luck!

You're a pretty lady, you'll be even more beautiful with your weight loss. :)

I quit smoking when I was pregnant with my kids, and with the 2nd one I stayed quit. It's been 2 years for me, no problems. I don't miss it! It sure STINKS... stinks up the house, your clothes, others smell you coming! :eck:

So glad you decided to make your health better by quitting smoking and losing weight! :clapclap:
