Fibersure question

Postby PJinCali » May 17th, 2006, 6:20 pm

Has anyone used this product? I would like to know the nutrition information but can't find it on-line (firbersure dot com). The product is supposed to be clear and grit free when mixed in water. The information I read also says you can cook & bake with it and since it is tasteless you can not tell it is there. It contains Inulim from chicory root instead of Psyllium.

I need to add some fiber to my diet but don't want to use this if it going to take me off track with the Medifast program.

If anyone knows or has tried it, please reply with what you think about the product and the nutrition info. I ordered a free sample online but the site says it will take 4-6 weeks to arrive

Thanks for any info you can send,

OK, one more thing...

I did look up chicory root and found that it contains 21 cal, 0 fat, 5g carb, 14g sodium per ounce.

I'm also unable to find the nutrition info about fiber sure online...someone needs to grab a bottle and give us the skinny.

Sounds pretty cool! I'll be interested to see what all's in it!

Okay, this is weird...
I just went over to my Dad's house to feed the dogs...he has a free sample of Fiber sure sitting on his counter....weird?

Okay, serving size is 1 heaping teaspoon...
25 calories
6grams of carbs
5 grams of fiber
impact carbs =1g

I know the quick start guide allows benefiber, so you might want to compare it to that...

Or, you may want to e-mail the TSFL nutritionist, call them, or get a hold of the TSFL nurse to see what they think...

I don't know anyone that is using Fibersure. The carbs and cals look a bit high to me.

I know that some of us have issues with the dreaded 'c' and I can attest to the uncomfy feelings that constipation adds to one's life...I was ready to gnaw on the bark of a forest of cascara trees myself...I used shakes only for nearly all of my de-flabbing adventure and therfore I did not have the fiber benefit of the Medi-oatmeal...For me, the key was to increase my water consumption and add moderate exercise (walking).

Broccoli and cauliflower sometimes assist the southerly canal...benefiber is sugar-free and according to DogMa and others, it works! (I was going to say 'it rocks' but I believe it takes care of the rocks....)

Let us know what you find out from the Nutritionist, and should you decide to take the gulp, if it works!

Inulin is used as a sweetener in some low-carb products because it is naturally sweet and all (or almost all) its carbs are fiber so they're not digestible.

I've used Benefiber and it worked pretty well and was tasteless and not gritty. Although lately I just take a vitamin C capsule every day and that keeps things moving (and extra vitamin C is a good thing, anyway). I know the products already have vitamin C in them, but I was used to taking more of it than they contain.

Thank you for the additional info :D

I went to do some product research for myself yesterday and could not find Fibersure. I ended up getting Benifiber and (coincidently) some vitamin C.

I am drinking more than 120oz of water every day because usually increasing my water intake works for me. I don't like to take anything extra but need to do something so I don't feel so uncomfortable

I will try the vitamin C and Benifiber, hopefully the problem will resolve with the week.

Thanks again everyone for the additional information & help.
