You know I was JUST kidding. I hope you are not upset that I didn't get around to leopardizing you this evening. Tankie suggested that you would be a PERFECT candidate.

Dede

Please keep on the box, I know I look for the posts, because you tell it like it is...good or bad. I also like Laurens post, read it before and it is how I plan on using the program, smoker or non smoker decide which one you are and be it...on MF or not decide. I will will be on. BTW was a smoker once, stress smoker, the day I finally decided I was a nonsmoker it did not make things easier, like the cravings, but it did make me succeed, I am now a total nonsmoker, no wishing or wanting...it's nice. I know I will never go back, it's been over 3 years.

As for the journals author, way to go, I like your entries very much...I LOVE DOUBLE TAKE JEANS!

Fantastic!! Thank you, and I love that quote! I have felt so hungry these past few days, and it may be that time of the month making me think of salt and chocolate, b/c yes, MF is so simple!!
I am glad that my mini-episodes have not completely sidetracked me, but b/c I am at the point of CONSIDERING and PONDERING a huge meal or whatever, I know I need some focus.
Yes, it is a slippery slope, and I am grateful for the reminder to make it a priority, a necessity, not an option.
So today I am focused. And what I am learning is just how important those L/G's are. I think i had a few days where I just kinda "winged" the meal-skipped the veggies, ate the meat, thinking ketosis. But my body needs and wants those greens. Add in the preparation of the meal, the sitting down and enjoying time with the family...ambiance! I need to NOT make up my own mini-rules and stick to the plan to the letter.
I am pleased with how I am looking, but it's a work in progress.
Since MF, I am less 10 lbs, and that makes 20 total since summer. Soon I'll be able to say what I thought was an impossibility. "I've lost 30 lbs."

Then

"I've lost 40 lbs."

That's huge.

So thank you, Dede, sincerely, for keeping me focused. I was offline for a few days with puter probs, and I can see how much I need your support! All of you!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 11th, 2006, 2:54 pm

I totally agree with you how important the L & G's are. For me, I've noticed a MARKED difference in my attitude since I've been planning, making and sitting down to enjoy different L & G's. I cook for just myself, so I was doing easy easy stuff like tuna and salad. Now I'm actually planning stuff to go on the George Foreman and cutting up fresh veggies to make and it's much better for my head!

Plus, I've learned so much about what a portion size ACTUALLY is! Just do it 1 hour at a time, it does become a habit, you do stop thinking about food all the time, I am already back to where I have to set my alarm clock to eat!

Just SERIOUSLY give MF a month, and you'll be surprised where you are! We'll be here, soapbox or not!

Oh yeah the george foreman, baby! I had a mini one that we used when we were childless. I still pull it out for Turkey burgers. So, the day is almost over and I'm feeling very compliant! I even did a Turbo Jam today (got sucked into that infomercial, but dude, it's totally fun! It makes me want to cry b/c it feels so good! My endorphins getta pumpin...ya know.)
Still have oatmeal and cappucino to consume, which is great b/c I feel like I could continue eating dinner, even though I'm full. What's that about?? Overindulgence? Some sort of gratification, I don't know. I just want chocolate.
Is it safe to eat ice cream with less than 3 g of carbs? ahhhh, but I must refrain to train my brain...gotta get through these next 2 weeks. Maybe I'll be over this craving hump in a day or two.

I had so much fun making my L&G tonight. Measuring, weighing, arranging, washing, spraying. So much more exciting than that shaker jar.

Hi

Postby dede4wd » December 11th, 2006, 9:59 pm

I'm so happy you did so well today. If you're going to turbo jam, make sure you have a meal right before or right after...okay?

Is it okay to have ice cream with ONLY blah blah blah carbs? I'm not going to jump back up too high on my soapbox, but WE just need to get you a few compliant days with no extras...nothing that isn't in the quick start guide and I KNOW the cravings are going to get much better.

If you're still jonesing...I freeze my pudding all the time and make myself kind of a sorbet? Worth a try!

Keep it up, proud of you, girl!

Ditto ! Along those lines, a bit of a mantra for myself -- the program fully works when I am fully working the program. Stick with the Quick Start guidelines, as DeDe says, and you will be fine. Cravings *do* go away.

Cheers and congrats on compliance !

Day 18

Postby FertileMyrtle » December 12th, 2006, 2:03 pm

So far so good today! I made decaf hazlenut coffee into a cappucino with sugar free hazlenut creamer to help me get through TOM. I also did Turbo Sculpt and Ab Jam, and did take a shake right after. I know from working for The Vitamin Shoppe that protein after a workout helps with muscle recovery, and boy!! I didnt even use weights! My outer thighs are so weak, and my hips! Man, the things pregnancy does to you!!
I notice that b/c of a Csection and weight gain, I end up slumping over (38DD doesnt help) until I lose weight. Then, b/c I am lighter, I try to stand up right, but my back hurts...until I strenghten my core, and THEN I realize my hips are all out of whack, I cant stretch them enough. You'll find me with my leg propped up on the counter behind me. This is the place where I am at now-realizing I have to strengthen my bod.
Another great change since MF has been that I sleep like a log! I mean, normally, I keep myself up thinking random thougths, and Mom radar is always on, so my rest is always interrupted. Since MF, I immediately began just clonking out and not waking up till after my husband has already left for work! The fact that I dont hear that caveman stomping around is a miracle. And I sleep so heavy that its like, the time just flies, and its morning. I wake up completely refreshed. So Praise the Good Lord on that one!

Yes, thank you for saying that getting compliant and working with the program is the most important to kicking the cravings. Like I mentioned, the popcorn incident put some crazy desires in my belly. Well, my head really.

Thanks ya'll.

Hi. Just one thought about your hazelnut coffee creamer. If you're experiencing cravings, the carbs in that creamer might be the culprit. They are sugar free, but they do have carbs. I actually think that half & half is better if you need to use cream at all.

I used to love my cream, but I decided to give it up for MF.....just didn't want the additional calories and carbs.

Just a thought.
