Feeling Hungry and stuck!

Postby KeleeGrl » June 24th, 2005, 11:13 am

Just had to vent that I have been feeling hungry lately and I don't know what it is. I have been drinking my water and trying to get more in because of the old saying.."if your feeling hungry, drink water"...well that just doesn't do it for me. I have been spacing my MF meals out about every 2-3 hours and my lean and green is also in there, so I don't understand why I am feeling hungry more often now. Its like I'm not getting enough and I'm not doing anything more as in exercise. Course it doesn't help when I have been compliant and I jump on the scale before a week is up and it doesn't move! That's a psycho if I ever saw one. Thanks for listening.....I feel much better now. :aarggh:

Hey there, KeleeGrl!

Don't forget you can have your freebies, too. 3 stalks of celery, some bouillon or fast soup, and 2 pickles.

I remember days when no matter what I did..........all the allowable snacks, extra water.....etc...........I STILL felt hungry.

Once, after a "hungry day", I dreamed I ate a GIANT marshmallow......(don't know why, I don't even like marshmallows very much)............anyhow, when I woke up...........MY PILLOW WAS MISSING!!

Sometimes the "hungry days" are immediately followed by a big weight loss day! Here's hoping!

I find that if I don't sleep well, I get really hungry--regardless of what or how much I eat. Before MF, I could eat all day & my brain would still send me the message that I was hungry!!!

It was my brain sending the message "I need energy!"

Try to sleep well & enough this weekend and see if that doesn't help you a bit. :-)

Also, I've heard that stress can also make your brain send "false hunger" messages...

kelee Grl,
Is it P.M.S.? I know when I'm P.M.S.ing I crave certain foods really bad for a week before, then when "it" arrives I lose my appetite completely during that time. Hang in there. I know it's very hard.

That was my first thought, too, 70. Even if it's not PMS, some kind of hormonal swing could still be making you extra hungry. Grab some celery and wait it out (and I know it's not technically allowed, but really ... if I were that hungry, I'd splurge and eat FOUR celery stalks; I refuse to believe the extra 10 calories - and four of those are fiber, which isn't even digested - could make that much difference).

You might also try varying your Medi-meals. I find some of them more filling than others. The puddings leave me STARVING. But I'm usually stuffed after the chili, especially with a pack of Medi-crackers.

Kelli~~I find if I drink diet soda, I am more likely to feel hungry. I don't know if you are drinking diet soda, just thought I would throw that out there. I limit myself to only one or two sodas a week. I love the taste but there's something in there that makes my body think it is hungry.

Dean~~you crack me up. :hatch: Missing pillow????????? HA! HA! :roflmao:

Kelli - sorry I missed your post. I hope things have improved on your end. You mentioned it was hot. Maybe try a Fast soup. I know I was in the sun all last weekend and Fast soup put me back to normal. Also maybe more water - when we are dehydrated our brain sends us hunger signals.
Hunger is tough but you are tougher !!! HANG IN THERE, Mytime
