Fast Soup & boullion

Postby RavenKat » December 20th, 2004, 10:34 am

Hey all you skinny people!

I have been reading my "Success in a Shaker Jar"" today and noticed how important boullion can be in a successful weight-loss plan. The potassium, the change in flavor, the warm drink - you name it. My problem is that the thought of boullion makes me gag. I had bought some when I started in April and proceeded to drink 1 cup. I then threw them out (they were liquid boullion). Any way - are the fast soups different enough from boullion to try?

Kat,

Being in a terminally warm climate, I prefer not to drink hot soups like bouillion, so when I feel the need for potassium, I just nibble the bouillion cube like a snack. It's pretty salty, but I love salt, and with a gulp of water after each little nibble, it's great for me. The fast soups in my opinion are milder than bouillion. When I tried them, I would add a bouillion cube to make it stronger so you might be able to tolerate them.

Well I am gonna go out on a limb here. I have a teen, and if any of you have them then your well acquainted with “Top-Ramen” My Daughter knows it well, and knew I was Medifasting, and one night she gave me the remaining broth from the pan when she finished. Well that was it – all she wrote. From then on she made 2 packets when she had it, and put additional 2 cups of water in it to make more broth. She got the noodles, and I got the broth. What a difference. Flavors are pretty plentiful, and for $.07-.10 cents who cares.

Remember – Broth only, NO NOODLES.

Kat, I know what you mean about the cold. Actually this morning, I had to drive in with only the vent on in the truck. Normally I use the A/C, but it was in the high 60’s this AM, and a bit brisk…. Brrrrrrr….

Can’t ya just feel the sass?

Mike, you make me sick - high 60's? Sheesh, it's 34 here...My arm hairs are permanently spiked, my teeth are chattering and I have bird bumps...thinking of growing out my eyebrows to warm up my forehead...

Top Ramen juice is tasty but really isn't as potassium fortified as the Fast Soups.

I like the little bits of freeze dried veggies in the Fast Soup, esp. the Robust Tomato and Savory Beef.

You forgot

It's supposed to snow here tomorrow. I guess the kids will be happy, if it lasts until christmas! LOL I can remember only about four holidays when we had snow in all my life, so I'll let them have this one.

But I'm cold. I don't have as much blubber to hold in my heat so I went and bought a new down blanket for my bed. I was going to buy some slipper socks, but I have a feeling my 3 year old picked out a pair for my Christmas gift, so I'm holding off. Can you hear my teeth chattering?
At any rate, I really enjoy my hot shakes like the cappucino and hot cocoa, the chili and the chicken noodle soup. I have never been able to stomach the fast soups for some reason, but I love boullion!
Now that Mike has turned me on to the Top Ramen leavings, I will have to investigate that--I keep those on hand for a quick meal for the kids, but I only use half of the seasoning packet when I make it for them, because I think it's too salty.
Maybe I'll have a use for it now!

I had my first Robust Tomato Fast Soup last night - YAY! Soup and I aren't friends but I really liked it! It filled me up and gave me a little warmth.

Thanks for sending 'em Nancy!

You are MOST welcome. RavenKat2!

I understand that you are having a serious snowfall today! Stay warm!

The Robust Tomato Fast Soup is good chilled, too ~ weather-permitting ;) with Tobasco Sauce - sort of a 'legal' Snappy Tom.
