So far so good :)

Postby Toxsiq » September 20th, 2005, 5:36 pm

Ok I am almost through my first day and I feel good! Wow, I haven't felt my stomach growl so much since I was a little kid! It's a strange feeling to feel "stomach" hungry instead of "mind" hungry.

I spaced out my "meals" and by the time for the next shake or soup I was SO READY to have it. It's going to be a challenge to get used to the schedule and to the growling stomach, but it'll pass with time, I'm sure.

It's interesting though to notice how my appetite shifts throughout the day and how it's influenced by what I'm doing. Anyways, I've read a lot of good things that people have gone through and have achieved. It's a simple plan really, the rules are pretty cut and dry, but someone needs to tell that to my growling stomach. :) It's not nearly as easy as it seems, at least for me. That just goes to show how much of an accomplishment being on this program really is.

Ok so I'm geared up for tomorrow. I've separated all my packets for the
month into big baggies so everything is ready and I don't have to think about anything. I'm just trying to do this right and not screw up. I am determined to lose weight.

We ALL have our stories and mine is that I left my last job because I "no longer fit the corporate image" that my employer was interested in projecting. Those were their words. It was SO humiliating. They transfered me to a basement office and shifted my schedule to encourage me to quit. So I did.

And here I am. And now it's time for a shake so I'm outty.

xoxoxo TOX :)

Hiya Toxy... what field are you in? Your last employer sounds like they coulda used a discrimination lawsuit. :)

Just you wait, in a few days, you will need to REMIND yourself to drink your shakes because you won't be hungry, AT ALL. I promise. :)

Hi Tox, it sounds like you got through your first day without too much trouble. Don't worry, once your body gets into ketosis, the tummy growls will subside for the most part. Some days are easier than others, that's for sure. But hang in there and you will see some amazing results. I'm sorry to hear that you were treated so badly by your former employer. That's just ticks me off to no end! Hopefully you can find a new place where they have kind, caring, HUMAN BEINGS who work there, not discriminatory idiots.

Keep up the great work!

Hi TOX,

You know what? Don't let your last employer weigh too much on your mind. They certainly don't know how to run a business if there is such discrimination. :x It's their loss.

Welcome and let me tell you, there is so much encouragement on this forum. You will really enjoy it.

Take care, keep up the good work and this site will help you a lot.

Hi--

You sound like you are off and running.. The hunger pains and growling nosies usually stop after the 3rd day.. Don't worry about your last employer-- some people are just jerks and it does sound like discrimination to me too..just hold your head up and keep on shaking and soon you will be at your goal weight.. keep up the good work..Martha

Welcome to you, Toxsiq ~

If you still have the growlies, take a Pepcid or a Tagamet for a few days or a week or so to help with excess stomach acid. I experienced hunger pangs for two weeks as I was used to eating such large quantities of food before and the teensy packet didn’t seem to do it for me initially. I thought, “Is THAT all I get?” I made my shakes in the blender to increase the volume and that seemed to satisfy me, too. It gets easier as time goes by and your hunger will take a trip.
