Hi Mike, I am not much help in the advice since I too am new but your post really touched me.
Dude...you need to remember why you want to loose, hold that and everytime temptation lurks its evil head up you need to have that to fight back. I know it isn't always easy...2 potlucks in maybe 1 week at work but there I sat shakin.
Maybe break some old food habits. I don't know what makes you fall but you do.Learn from it and don't fall again :)
Stay strong!

Not a failure, a learning experience. Look at WHY you've been having trouble sticking to it and try to learn from that.

Plus you're down 40 pounds and haven't gained it all back, right? So how is that a failure?

Most of us slip up sometimes, and it can be hard to get back on track. But you've taken the first step. I think the next step is to forgive yourself and move on. There's no magic answer. The past three weeks are over, and you can't change what happened. The best you can do is try to learn something from what happened, pick yourself up and just DO it. I think if you can take it one day at a time at first, before you know it you'll find yourself back in the groove.

Easy way to get motivated... Look at yourself in the mirror, 40lbs less and imagine now what you'll look/feel like ANOTHER 40lbs lighter. Then look at the clothes that are now tooooo big for you and take a walk through the mall and look at all the clothes that you WILL fit into once you drop the next 40lbs.

I have a huge pile of HUGE clothes that live in the corner of my closet to remind me of what 313 lbs looked like. I also have the pair of Levi 501 jeans in a 32" waist to remind me of where I'm going.

IM me anytime.

Hi there Mr. Disney :D
Robin is sooo right. :D Life is a learning experience and now you've learned not to wander around on the foody journeys. They really are not worth it. :( I know because of course, I've wandered a bit at times too. Somehow things just don't taste as great as we remembered. Let the forum provide some accountability for you. It is much easier to let ourselves down than a whole forum full of people. Just promise yourself you'll post everyday for a few days and let everyone know how you're doing. We will cheer for you successes. After the initial few days you'll be right back in the rountine again and those 40 pounds will be sayig a permanent "goodbye" to you. :D

Hi

Postby dede4wd » May 27th, 2006, 2:05 pm

I did something last year...I lost 36lbs on MF, fell off the wagon, got dragged by the wagon and then the wagon backed over me twice...It took me nearly a YEAR of telling myself EVERY monday that I was going to start back up. I didn't! I'm kicking myself SO HARD now because I could've been at goal and maintaining for a long time, but no, here I am, still in the weight-loss phase.

I'm so happy you've started back up. Today is a new day! You should be PROUD of your accomplishments, not worry about the past! I am currently standing behind your wagon...ready to give it a push so we can get your wagon rolling good again. I am not alone...there are many others standing back here with me, we will all help push! Use us! Post often, we're here to help each other. Without this forum, there is NO CHANCE I'd be where I am today!

Glad you're back on plan!
