Facing Challenges!!

Postby Kim » October 10th, 2004, 8:32 pm

Hi everyone - I am on Day 8 and had to share what kind of day I had. My oldest daughter turned 14 yesterday and today was her party day. So I had 6 teens and my 10 year old in our van and we went bowling. (I didn't bowl but watched). While bowling they had fries and soda - I had water and diet coke. After bowling we went to Baskin Robbins - they had ice cream - I had Choc. RTD! Then it was off to pick up the take n bake pizza (pizza is a fav food of mine...). We got home and they had pizza and chips. I had chx broth with celery. Then all the kids left and two hours later the family came for the other party. They had choc. cake w/choc. frosting and ice cream. I had a nice cup of tea and a mf bar. Now everyone is gone and I am soon off to have my fav thing so far - MF hot cocoa.

I wanted to put this day in writing because while I was definately tempted - I made the choice to stick with the plan. My DH started the plan with me (but w/only 15 #'s to lose). He is now doing it "his" way - having cookies/cake/bread occasionally, but I have made the commitment and am not going to be side-tracked. I WILL BE THIN BY MY 40TH BIRTHDAY!! NO EXCUSES!!!

Good for you and your wise choices. Whenever I'm tempted I keep telling myself, "once I meet my goal I'll be able to enjoy pizza, garlic bread, etc...in moderation." It's not like all pizza will be off the face of the earth. The longer I stick to plan & not cheat the sooner I'll meet my goal.

Have a great week!

Great Job! I can sympathize! My first week of MF I was faced with a birthday party, an anniversary dinner for a family member at a kickin' Irish restaurant, spaghetti and rolls for dinner, and making homemade peanut butter cookies!

My second week, which just wrapped up yesterday, was when I made homemade chilli for everyone, took my daughter to a halloween event filled with pizza and cheesesticks, and now being out of town for work at an event where all everyone seems to do is eat!

But, like you, I resisted temptation. Like "looznit" said, those foods will be there when I'm done. And by doing the plan 100% the right way, I'll be able to resume normal eating all the faster... as long as it's with moderation and smarts!

Great job holding out against the temptations!!

Wow Kim, what an iron will you have! I frankly don't know that I could have made it through all that without a little cheat. You've given me the strength to get through this next week and I thank you for that!

for all of your kind comments and encouragement. I know that I'm just a baby in this journey and have a long way to go. It's nice to be able to come here and see how others are doing and changing and finding success!!

Kim?

I love your " nothing will stand in my way" attitude!!!!!!!!! Keep it up and you will be thin in no times. And that's worth all the cakes, pizzas, and chips of the world.
