Facial Rash

Postby lise » April 14th, 2006, 3:46 pm

I was wondering if anyone has any solutions for this. I have a rash on my face that won't go away and it's unbearable since it's very itchy! I've tried creams. I've tried using pimple medication but nothing seems to work. The rash started last month when I started Medifast.

Help!! I'm tired of having an itchy face and rash!

Hi Lise, sorry about your problem. I'm not familiar with it so I did a search...here's a thread on this forum that talks about it...Mr Snippy, please don't snip, it's from here! If Mr Snippy snips it Lise, just go to the search tab up top and type in rash.

Hope this helps a bit!

Itchy Rash

Postby Jan » April 14th, 2006, 7:36 pm

Hi There,
DeDe sent you to exactly the right place. Once in awhile someone will get an itchy rash -- most generally on the face or neck :x -- I don't know why exactly it seems to pick those areas. If you haven't tried Benedryl (sp ?) I'd give it a try. I think one month of rash is longer than usual. It usually goes away in a week or two. If it persists you may want to visit your Dr. He may be able to give you a better idea about it.

Thanks!
I just found a hydrocrotizone cream in my linen closet so I will try that and see if it works.

My rash is concentrated around my cheeks, nose and forehead.

Has this happened to others?

Lise,

After I started, I got two small bumps on my face; One on my nose and one on my check. I was hoping that it wasn't a rash starting (and that I wasn't allergic to the MF!!).

I am starting my week 4 tomorrow and these "bumpy pimples" are gone! I think it was part of my body's detoxing process. Actually my skin has been feeling much smoother since the MF (yet ANOTHER positive side effect!).

I would definitly advise you to talk to your doctor about this (it could be coincidental and have nothing to do with MF) ... and a hydrocortisone cream (over the counter - like from Wallgreens) couldn't hurt either to stop the itch.

Hope it goes away and you are feeling better soon :)

Thanks everyone!

I have found a solution to my rash. :)

I wash 3 times a day with glycerin soap (unscented) and then apply Desitin (yes the stuff that treats baby rashes) on the affected areas. This provides a lot of soothing and after 1 cleaning, I can say that my skin is looking and feeling much better. :) After the Desitin has soaked into my skin, I can safely apply makeup and look flawless! :)

I have had a rash since last year and it won't entirely go away. It started when I went on Nutri System, which is also high in soy protein. I thought I was allergic to it. Then I started MF and it was getting worse. I continued anyway hoping it would go away. I have been drinking MF for months now, mostly for breakfast and morning snack as it's good for you and it's easy. Now I have this rash in about ten different areas on my body. I went and saw a Dermatologist and she said it doesn't look like it's from MF. I just have severe dry skin? But still in the back of my mind I wonder if it's from soy. :dunno:

Update on facial rash:

Since washing my face and putting on the desitin since yesterday, my rash is now about 90% gone. I only have a few spots left and these should be gone by the morning!

i'm definately bringing these with me to St.Kitts!
