Explanation Please

I am on my second week of mf and I have lost 10 pounds but that was in the first week. Well now I am at the end of my second week and the scale has not budged even a half pound. Is this the way it will go? Will I lose some weeks and not others even though I am doing the same thing? While I am here I also have another question. I am not at all crazy about any meat. I have been eating chicken or fish for my lean part of my meal and I am about to be sick. I could easily be a vegatarian, and I was for a number of years, anyway can I sometimes substitute a serving of almonds for my lean protein part of my meal? Thanks

Angela,

It is probably just your body adjusting to the program. Stick with it and that scale will move.

Almonds are a definite nono but I do know that there are some vegetarians on here who will help you out with what replacements you can have. I know that you can substitute cottage cheese or eggs for the protein and tofu I think but that is the extent of my knowledge on that subject...sorry

I am with Lisa. I am pretty sure about the cottage cheese, eggs and tofu, but how much, I am not sure about. PM Joelie. I think she is a vegetarian. Seems like I read that somewhere.

:wave: Veggie here. :)

You can have 1/2 to 1 cup of cottage cheese, 1 cup of low-fat cheese, 2 eggs (limit to 3 times a week), 1/2 to 1 cup of egg substitute (1 cup equals 4 eggs...VERY filling), 1/2 block of firm tofu, (4"x2") piece of soft tofu...you can also have 1 Boca Burger or Morning Star Buger.

I often have foil baked Tilapia (one of my FAVES), bay scallops, shrimp, tuna steak (my ABSOLUTE fave right now) and salmon.


My second or 3rd week in (can't remember which)...I made the mistake of stepping on the scale mid-week and it said I had GAINED a pound or so...I FREAKED and did a full fast for 2 days and by Sunday morning weigh in I lost it + 3 more. :D

Hi Angela,

Most of the people who go on MF lose a lot the first week, and very little the 2nd. I've been on Medifast several times and I found that to be true in my case every time. I've been in several MF groups over the years and have seen that happen over and over. The first week is a lot of water weight and your body adjusting to mild ketosis. You should see a good loss next week if you just stick with it. If you're on-program your body is losing fat whether you see it on the scale or not.

I weighed 159.3 this morning for a loss of 35.4. :arrow: :arrow:
