Crystal Lite is okay, but as your additional water (not part of your needed 64 oz).

Sounds like it wasn't the worst slip at a party.... just keep at it and before ya know it, you'll be a party unto yourself.

crystal light is fine but it doesn't count as your water intake. some people like to mix a little in their shakes although i have never tried it like that.

Hi everyone,

Today I went in to the dentist to began my crown process for 3 of my teeth on the lower left. I was very scared; because unlike some people; dentist make me nervous. The dentist started drilling the silver filling that is in my teeth from many years ago. I decided a while ago that one day I wanted to tried for a complete white smile again; instead of having that silver in your mouth that appears like decay when you open your mouth from a distance to others. He completed the process of taking the silver out and said okay; we have to get an x-ray to make sure I got it all. Well, a little while later he return and informed me that I would have to have 3 root canals done. I was almost out of my mind. He performed the root canals as needed. I go back on january 14 for completion. He has put some type of filling in; I am afraid to eat on it. I don't want it to come out. I haven't eaten much today; not very hungry because of my dental procedure. I have been drinking though. Thanks for listening I have to go back to bed. Pain pills have me a little drowsy.

I hate the dentist. I have horrible teeth. My adult teeth have almost no enamel because of some odd hereditary issue. I have spent over $20K in dental work in the last 10 years. I feel your pain. I need to have five crowns this year.......ugh!!!

But, flossing is easier now that I have so many shakes a day!
I am worth it!!!!!

I go in for my cleaning on Monday, Christmas Eve. Almost all my back teeth were filled years ago because of the loss of enamel due to bulimia in my youth. The stomach acid eats away at it. I didn't even have to tell the dentist I had been bulimic. They had seen it before-scary. I don't have any obvious cavities but I am sure there are some holes in the enamel they will want to fix before they become cavities. I have no idea of the cost but am so glad I got my heart ring before we found out how much the dentist is going to be. :lol: My husband has spent 10K at the dentist this year. Typical Englshman, bad teeth. I also need to go visit my orthodontist. I need new retainers. They are 220 each. I can still wear the old ones but one is broken in the back which I don't really care about but the front one needs to be remade because I don't wear it often enough and am getting buck teeth. If you look at my two front teeth in this picture you can see what I mean. They are moving forward.

Yes, they are costly. I have to have a total of 12 is what the treatment plan states; but I'm afraid some of them will lead to needing root canals; once he's done drilling. Well, I have to wait and see.

Pounds or Inches; not leaving my waist or stomach!!!!

Postby Exotic » December 22nd, 2007, 8:40 pm

Has anyone noticed the pattern of how fat is lost. It seems like fat only melts off of my legs here and there. I am wondering when the fat will began dropping off of my arms and my stomach. The slow movement of abdominal fat melting always make me turn back to bad eating habits. It seems like for weeks and weeks; my waist or my arms doesn't decrease in size. It seems like I never lose pounds or inches off my waist or arms. Is there any types of exercises I can do to help shrink my arms and my waist? All my fat is upper body fat; how do I get it to move? If I stay on my medifast; will it eventually start to move? I'm also worried about loose/hanging skin? If there is anyone that can tell me about their skin and how fat left there body? Please educate me on this. I was told not to start lifting weights yet. What are some of you losers doing?

Theoretically, aerobic exercise (walking, jogging etc.)burns fat but I can tell you I still have fat resistant problem areas that haven't been affected that significantly over a year of exercising.Are you getting some exercise yet or is it still too early? But yes, if you stay on MF long enough some of the fat has to go-it has no choice. Are you taking your measurements? I lost 10 inches in my waist and am hoping through continued proper eating and exercise that number will increase. I started with a huge beer belly as you can see in the studio. Toning exercises you could do for your arms and waist won't get rid of the fat but will make the muscles underneath tighter and more sleek so can help somewhat in the appearance of those areas as you lose weight. I have been doing wall pushups and lifting weights for my arms and my arms are looking better. For your waist look for core toning exercises like pilates or even crunches turned a little sideways. If you don't know the proper technique, google it. Your neck shouldn't be hurting, only your abdominal muscles. I am sure the exercise experts can give you some more advice. I can tell you that even with my problem areas MF made me lose enough weight that with my clothes on people pay me to take my picture. That is not something I ever even dreamed of when I started. I was a fat alcoholic housewife. If they saw my stomach they would scream but I am still a work in progress!

I hope everyone had a merry christmas; I didn't stray too much off of my plan. My mind is soooooooooo made up about losing fifty pounds. I would like to be in onederland by february 1st, 2008. I believe and know I can do it. I hope all of you are doing well. I use to beat myself up so badly when I would stray away from my plan; then I would just continue for months to make bad choices. I recently came to an understanding that; if I make a mistake about food choices don't continue to make the mistakes. I know that everyone at times will have the occassional slip up. I guess I'm no different. I will just jump back on plan and keep trying, trying, and trying until I become a size 10-12. Thanks for all the stories here at the forum. You guys are great.

I'm still not totally in love with all of the medifast products; but I'm trying to make it work. I love the hot chocolate/capp; but that fruit punch is horrible. The chicken noodle soup is not great either; but if I can get it down while it's warm it's edible. The cream of brocoli; who in the hell attempt to make that YUCK!!!!!!

*I'll try any suggestions; please give them to me.*

Love you guys; You guys have helped me so much here. Thanks Mike and Biki (our supermodel).

Inspirational Poem

Just for today, I will stay on my diet;
Just for today, I will answer the call;
Just for today, I will drink all my water;
Just for today, I'll give medifast my all!
By looking ahead at all the tomorrows that
I must be diligent, steadfast and strong
I'm making the task seem far too daunting
Making the journey seem far too long.
Staying on Medifast, I am succeeding;
Seeing a weightloss, day after day;
Knowing no pizza can beat this great feeling;
Wow, this is working I'm happy to say!
I'm conquering daily all of the challenges;
Calling on God's perfect strength I can't see;
Knowing for certain, I will have victory;
Reaching my lifetime goal, medifast and me!

They say the first place you gained weight will be the last place you lose; the last place you gained will be the first place you lose.

Seems true for me for the most part. I can't answer the other questions but I'm sure some of the Maintainers can.

No help on the Cream of Broc other than the cracker recipe in Lean Cuisine (which I have never mastered).
The chicken noodle does well with some garlic powder and some pepper or chili powder (let it sit for a while to let the noodles absorb the water).
The Tropical punch (to me) is best made with sugar free lemonade (Minute Maid lite or SF Tropicana Lemonade).

For the Cream of Broccoli I used to use a dash of Tabasco and a few squirts of ICBINB spray.

I add tabasco and pepper to both of those soups. Also, for the chicken noodle I cook it on the stove covered. I bring it to a boil and then let it simmer for a bit and then even let it sit a while after I turn off the heat. Keep it covered and the noodles plump up well......also, I add 2 cups of water to all of my soups. I like the extra broth.

HTH's some!
