Exercise

Postby female1978 » January 22nd, 2004, 5:24 pm

I'm doing the complete fast. 5 shakes per day. I read in the booklet that came with my first order that it takes 3-4 weeks for our bodies to get used to the products. I've decided to wait for at least 3 weeks before I slowly begin to build my exercise routine. But I wonder if it's really safe to engage in intense exercise while only consuming 500 calories per day (even if we should limit it to 45 mintues per day).

Have any of you had any issues of feeling hungry, weak, etc. while performing exercise? Can some of you share your experiences with exercise.

Merci!

I waited until I was on the program about 4 weeks before I started going to Curves. I go 4-5 times a week, and havent had problems. Once your body adjusts, it actually feels pretty good!

Snicker, snicker, snicker... Sure, if I ever excercised, or if I ever start!

I started at Curves also at 5 1/2 weeks into the program. The first time I excercised, I felt a little weak and my heart rate was up higher than it should be. However, since then I make sure to have a shake RIGHT before going in, and I haven't had a problem since.

Curves is a great excerise program for us medifasters, because you can easily work to your own level without out-doing it.

I'm on my second week of working out there, and today was the first day where I was really anxious to get there and felt really great after going. That is a HUGE turn for me in my life, where for years excercise has been a chore and something that made me miserable. I'd always heard about people who couldn't wait to work out and felt better when they did. I think that maybe I'm becoming one of them!

I would definitely suggest waiting the recommended time before starting a program, or cut back for a while if you already excercise. But after that, go for it! It boosts your energy even more, helps motivate you, and puts you one step closer towards that total life change that will last forever :)

Hang in there, FinalStraw! By the time you can excercise your energy levels will be much higher!

Oh, I forgot to mention before that I sleep MUCH BETTER on the nights after I excercise. All that extra medifast energy that normally has me tossing and turning gets put to good use and I can really catch some ZZZZZZs!
