Has a Silver Lining.
As some of you may know I had a scare last week when an on-call doctor called me and said that my potassium levels were too high, it was potentially life threatening and I needed to get re-tested ASAP. Turned out it was a false lab test...my potassium levels were fine. But initially when the doctor asked me if I was feeling tired or washed out I mentioned how a few months ago I had but that was due to my BP meds needing to be adjusted for my weight loss. Told him they had been cut in half, however my last BP reading was 97/55. He told me then, over the phone, to stop taking the Lisinopril, which I did.
Yesterday I emailed my regular doctor and told him I hadn't taken the BP meds since last Tuesday and should I resume them now that my Potassium levels were shown to be normal. He told me to come in and he'd check my BP himself.
Went in this morning, my BP was 107/60. He said that was perfect, listened to my heart, and said no more BP meds for me. YAYAYAYAY... That was a goal of mine fromt he beginning to get off these @#$%^&*( medications and finally it got done. Doc shook my hand, told me I was doing just great and he wouldn't need to see me for another 6 months.
So, I guess if the lab hadn't messed up my blood test results I wouldn't have been given the opportunity to show my doctor that I didn't need to take lisinopril anymore.
