Eek! I'm dieting.

Postby The Dude » April 22nd, 2006, 9:12 pm

I've never had a weight problem in my life, but since I quit work in construction and went back to school I have put on about 40 pounds I need to get rid of.

A friend of mine is having good success with this plan, and since it fits into my "To lazy to make sure I fix a good meal" lifestyle, I figured I would give it a try.

I was looking for good ways to make veggies without the normal cup of butter I use when I found this place. Just thought I would say Hi.

Welcome Mr Dude,
You've found the right place to find help on the program and fixing those veggies. Don't feel bad -- my sister who runs marathons is on program.
My neighbor who runs marathons tooo is also on program. Plus he has a job which requires lots of physical strength. Soooner or later here we are. Check out the lean cuisine section of the forum. Maybe you'll find some recipes there to help you out.
Welcome

Thanks for the welcome.

I did find a way to cook them last night. I just cut my chicken into pieces and did I kinda spring mix stir-fry with zuchini, mushroom, tomatos, and yellow pepper.

I used the no-stick spray, a little lemon juice, some Mrs Dash, a little basil, and finished it off with a couple spritzes of I can't believe it's not butter spray. It was actually pretty good.

I wanted to try one of the Aparagus recipes I saw here but the asparagus at my market was awful so I passed on it.

Mr. DUDE,

So glad to have you join the greatest support group you will ever find! :yeah:

Hey, I fix up my veggies, like green beans, by adding a beef boullion cube, some onion flakes, Mrs. Dash or other spices, and I am good to go! No butter needed! :bib:

Give the plan at least a month at 100% and my guess is your results will be so great that you will continue until you reach that final destination! :drive:

We're here to help you get there!

I just wanted to note that I seem to be one of those that has so far spent the first 2 days feeling kinda sick and having monster headaches.

Also, I find it weird but I'm starving all the time. The reason I find this weird is that I am a weird eater. My usual food day goes like this;

9am, cup of coffee.

noonish
I have a slimfast shake and a power bar. (I've been doing this for years, not because I was on a diet, but it was fast food that didn't mess up my stomache) This is one of the reason this program appealed to me, I'm very used to shakes and power bars.

3pm some kinda snack (Donut) and a cup of coffee.

8pm HUGE dinner, lately it's been Pizza, subs, or a big steak and veggies.

So you see I'm not a big day eater, but now I'm starving all day long.

 Welcome Dude! We're glad you're here. Your stir fry sounds great, but one caveat -- we are not supposed to use yellow or red peppers -- only green. I think it has something to do with the amount of sugar in them...

You'll be successful with MF! Keep shaking and use this forum for support. We're all here for each other! :D

Welcome! I think that your hunger is most likely your body just adjusting to program. Generally within a few days the hunger subsides and you will be feeling much much better!

Yep, stay on program and in a few days the hunger and headaches will be gone, replaced by LOADS of energy! Just give it another day. :)

Hi THE DUDE,

How'd you do? Making it through the first 3-4 days is the toughest, then that all goes away and I felt great!

Just checking in on you and adding my welcome!

HI DUDE, AND WELCOME!!! Glad you are here! :D

When I first started MF, I made a point to eat something every two-three hours. Always saving a MF meal for mid-evening. I found that it really kept most of the hunger away. Your headaches will go away, also, as many have already mentioned.

The plan calls for us eating a meal within one hour of arising in the am. For a non-breakfast eater as myself, that was a bit difficult to face, in the beginning. Maybe a 9am, 12 noon, 3pm, 5pm Lean and Green, 7pm and 9pm schedule could work for you?

I wish you very good success in the MF program, and again, welcome! Joan

Hey DUDE!!!!

Welcome and so glad you joined!!!

Remember that peppers aren't good for this plan. Espeically the red and yellows are carbie and have sugar in them.

Also, remember your aren't dieting, you have started a great eating plan!!!! :)

I have one male client that in one month he lost 27lbs. So make sure you stick to it and you will lose those pounds before you know..a month can fly by when you are enjoying your food!

Remember to visit the lean cusine section...lots of great ideas and work with your Health Advisor...Post and post and post!!! We are here at all hours!!! :)
