Donna, something that I've noticed in my own weight loss history is that the first time I tried a certain type of program I lost a lot of weight, the second time I did a similiar program my losses weren't as big. Example....I tried a diet called Prism, it is similiar (to me) to SB and Atkins in that you do not have any sugary foods nor foods with white flour. I lost 22# in 6 weeks. Decided that since I was doing so wonderfully that a few chips with lunch wouldn't matter and from there on out I didn't do well because I tweaked the program to include a bit of whatever I wanted to eat until I was no longer eating on program.
I never could get myself back onto the Prism program once I went off of it, even though I tried numerous times.
Then I tried Atkins....my weight loss was nice but no where near 22# in 6 weeks......and once I stopped the Atkins, I never could get myself motivated to stick to it again even though I tried quite a few times.
When I began MF, I had nice weight losses, but again, nothing touched the Prism losses. I believe it is because the 'magic' happens once and then our bodies remember that they've been on a similiar journey and do not respond in the same exact way as they did the first time. I have heard that others have experienced the same thing---first time on a carb restricted diet/program gives excellent results and then the next time isn't as impressive (but still is quite nice). Maybe this is what has happened for you, too.
Because I failed at restarting the other programs once I began having off program foods.....that is why I am so adamant that I not do that this time. I do not want to visit that same place that I've been twice before---not being able to get back on program once I've gone off of it.
Just my experience........your mileage may vary.
Don't be discouraged.....just keep your head down and keep moving along the MF program's path. The weight will come off, at a nice pace, even though we'd wish for faster results (I think I'd wish for faster results even if I were losing 3# a week,
).
