Thanks for the warm welcome Doni and the well wishes.

Today is the start of my second day and it was unusually hard for me to wake up, and that was after going to bed much earlier than usual. I think, that because I have been up late for so many nights in a row, that I'm just extra tired. I'm having a cup of coffee now and will fix me a shake in a little while.

Yesterday was a good day and I stayed on plan and drank more water than required so I would say, "so far so good." I had 3 shakes, a soup, oatmeal and a L&G. My L&G was turkey and fresh asparagus.

My cousin was asking me about the diet and I made the comment, "that when I lose a 100 lbs........" and she told me that I did say the right thing; I could have said IF I lose a 100 lbs. so my attitude is good and detrmination is strong. I want to keep it that way too and that's why I need all the support on this board.

At my sons basketball game last night I told my youngest sister that I was not going to have the lap-band surgery but I was doing Medifast. Her immediate reply was, "You should just have the surgery, the diet isn't going to work." Upset me but I just thought that I will prove her wrong and she will see in a couple of months.

My son loved his new truck, surprising him was fun!

Today is the start of my third day and everything is going good. Yesterday I had a shake, oatmeal, chicken & rice, chai latte, L&G and a pudding. My L&G was turkey and veggies. I thought I had two shakes but was mistaken so today I will pay more attention to what I am having before I open the packet.

I woke up at 4:00 a.m. with a sore throat so I went ahead and got up. Must be coming down with a cold considering all the sneezing I'm doing. Need to feel better since I have a very busy next 4 days with company coming. Looking forward to going to the scrapbook convention tomorrow and staying on plan with my meals; medifast really makes it easy.

According to my scales I have lost 4 lbs. but will not change my ticker until the week is up.

Donna, I find that I need to write down my supplements each day because I cannot remember, most days, what supplements I've had and when I had the last one. It all gets jumbled in my brain with all the other 'stuff' I have to remember. I keep the daily records and try to keep everything in Fitday -- but I'm way behind on entering things there (except for my daily weigh-ins).

Good for you on day 3!

After my first supplement, I then write the time schedule for the rest of my meals on a little pad where I also keep my water intake. I also enter all my food and weight on FitDay but I have a lot of extra time.

Keeping a daily log is a good idea, Donna. As the days go buy it will become a blur as to what you ate and when you ate it--not to mention how much water you've had! <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_49.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_4_49/image.gif"> <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_49.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_4_49/image.gif"> <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_49.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_4_49/image.gif"> <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_49.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_4_49/image.gif"> <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_49.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_4_49/image.gif"> <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_4_49.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D12%252F12_4_49/image.gif">

While FitDay is an option for recording your progress, MyMedifast and SupportInMotion are two sites specific to the Medifast Plan. MediMeals (and their nutritional components) are already in the system so you can avoid the drudgery of entering all that data as you would on FitDay. I use MyMedifast because it has a longer history of discussion boards (complete with nutritionist and personal trainer), blogs, chat rooms etc.

I'm sorry that your youngest sister was dismissive of your desire to use Medifast rather than having surgery  . Perhaps she will become supportive when she sees your determination. I hope so. It's so helpful (and nice :) ) when family and friends are supportive! Surround yourself with those types of people--keep positive! 8) In any case, you have the support and encouragement of this board and ... you know how to reach me!

Today is the end of my third day and I must say that the past three days have not been difficult for me. I guess I was so hyped up to get started that lack of regular food has not bothered me. I have missed my salt though. So, today I had three shakes, oatmeal, L&G and tomato soup. My L&G was turkey and green beans. That tomato soup was pretty good too. Oh, and all my water!

After this next weekend I'm going to get into my yard work and scrapbooking pretty heavy. I need to focus my mind on some different things because I find myself so wrapped up in the diet and the message boards that the time is going by too slow it seems like. I guess I'm ready for some big results that are noticable but I know that it will take a little while.

I'm feeling a little worried about muscle loss and would probably like to exercise as soon as I can, even if I have to add more shakes.

Guess I'll check in tomorrow night after bowling to see what's happening with everyone.

Congrats on 4 pounds loss and getting through your first three days unscathed. Great job!!

All of you guys who keep track of everything are pretty good. I don't keep track of anything - however, I am pretty predictable. I typically have oatmeal for breakfast (on the weekend scrambled eggs) then I have a shake (or hot cocoa, or chai latte) then I have soup for lunch, a bar mid-day, my L&G for supper and either pudding for oatmeal for dinner. The only time this gets shaken up is on the weekends - the RTD shakes come in real handy then. I write my weight loss on my pocket calendar and I track my water intake by the number of bottled waters I drink. I guess I am the hillbilly tracker of the MF world..LOL!!

Not to worry, Donna. The program is devised to utilize fat stores rather than solid muscle mass. Unless you've been exercising before you began MF you should hold off for 3 weeks so your body can adjust to the program. After that you can (and should) exercise--it is recommended! I'm so proud of your determination! WTG!

I'm certainly not going to exercise for three weeks. I did a lot of walking all day Friday at the scrapbook convention and then had to go and bowl that evening; I was wiped out! I used your tip about mixing my shakes in the water bottles and that worked good. I don't think I drank enough water but nothing I can do about it now.

Thanks for the congratulations Sue!
Today is the end of my 5th day and I'm staying on plan but I can already tell that weekends are going to be tuff for a while. I did good yesterday at the scrapbook convention and even at the bowling alley. We had my granddaughters birthday party here today and there was lots of food that I'm not going to list, so I just stayed out of the kitchen. I bet we had over 40 people here; it was fun, but once again, I'm wore out. My daughter's friends all ordered pizza, which is one of my big weaknesses, and just left to go get it. I decided to lock myself in my room and get some support from this board. I believe I will read a few posts and go on to bed.

Day 7 so I will weigh in the morning. I can tell I have lost some weight and can't wait to see how much. Nearly jumped on the scale this morning but changed my mind. This diet sure makes it easy on deciding what to eat. My L&G last night was pork loin and asparagus. I had 3 shakes and an oatmeal but didn't manage to stay up late enough for that 5th meal. I was pretty lazy yesterday after having all the company on Saturday and Saturday night. Should have got up and gone to church but my grandbaby was still here and I wanted to spend every moment with her that I could. Looking forward to getting on the scales tomorrow.
