Well, yesterday was the first weigh in day for the biggest loser competition at work. I was absolutely nauseated when I got on that scale. Then when it weighed me 5# heavier than my scale does I almost :eck: But, I didn't. I didn't feel too bad because everyone that weighed was saying, "Those scales weigh 5# heavy." So I guess they really were heavy. I am proud of myself in one aspect, by overcoming my adversion to weighing in front of people, I feel like it really shows I truly am commited to losing this weight.

Well just remember if the scale doesn't change, your losses will be reflected whether they match your home scale or not. You can still win!!!!

I was very happy when I got on the scales this morning and saw that I had lost another 3.2# since Wednesday. I have been working very hard to get all my water in. I find it hard to just drink plain water. I'll admit I use the CL packets quite frequently.

I have been doing very well with my goal of staying off of the scales also. I took the scales out of the bathroom, which has helped a great deal. I plan to only weigh on Sundays for roll call. However, I will have to weigh at school every Friday for the Biggest Losers challenge. I really want my team to win. :trophy: I might even get some $. That's always good. :bigidea: I could use the money to buy new clothes.

Looking ahead.......I will be going to 2 different 2 day conferences in February. One at the beginning of the month, the other at the end. I have already started worrying about how I will stay on plan. Actually I guess I am not really worrying about, I'm more planning for it. As they always say, "Not having a plan is a plan to fail." I certainly don't want to fail, so I am definitely going to have a plan.

My SNL and BNL are both being quite secretive about how much weight they have lost since the being of our family challenge. Of course, I haven't divulged any information to them as well. :muahaha: Honestly, I don't really care if I win this challenge, I want all 3 of us to get to a healthier place. ;)

I am so enjoying my journey so far. I'm managing to stay compliant every day with very little hunger. I know the weight loss will slow down, but right now I'm lovin it.

Great Job Donica! :whoohoo: I am so happy for you. Keep up the great work! Looks like you need to keep your eye on me more than mine on you! I'm going to be compliant this week...I promise.

Thanks Kelli! I'll try to post in your journal every day this week. Maybe that will help!

Today is going to be very busy. My DH and I are working on fixing up our prior home to try and sell it. We have been renting it out, which is a great deal of work. Anyway, I should get my exercise in today as I will be removing wallpaper all day long. YUCK!

Gotta run.

The challenge is sometimes what it takes to keep you going... i know it is for me anyway... I can say that i want to be healthier, but if i had to do this on my own, it wouldn't get done. Making it a challenge holds a person accountable to someone other than them self... it seems for some absurd reason, it's easy to let yourself down, but harder to let someone else down, and when really thought about... that is totally backwards!!! :nutz: I don't even know if that came out right and made sense... but that's what i think!

I use the CL alot too... i try to get 64 ozs plain water first, then the rest of the day is CL or the SF Kool Aid..... weekends are always harder for me to get the 64 plain though....

You will definitlely be burnin some extra cals working on the house!! :weightlift: Good luck! Hope you have a great day....

donica, i am so proud of you!! i understand the weighing in public issue -- it was SO hard for me to post my before pix (stupid, i know...) but there it is.

just think though, how awesome it will be for everyone to see the weight you are losing, and know it is true because they all saw the original weight!! you may be able to share your MF experience with others and help them to start it! how cool would that be?? i would love to have some friends on this plan with me. I had one, but she couldn't stick with it.

Keep up the great work!

QT ~ you made perfect sense. I know exactly what you are saying. I think the reason we can let ourselves down easier than others is because we know we will forgive ourself....can't say the same about others. A challenge is good for me. I just wish it would have come up a long time ago. :hammerhead:

Casma~ It would be nice to have someone to do MF with. I have told some of my co-workers about it......but, I want them to see some of the results first. I guarantee they will want to know when they see how much weight I lose. Hopefully we can both encourage someone to begin this journey with us. In the meantime, it sure is good to have the wonderful people of this forum. :hi5:

Debra ~ the wallpaper removal was a great success today. This is the 3rd day we have spent working on it and I think we finally finished removing it all. We still have a great deal of work to do, but I enjoy doing it.

Thanks ladies, you have all made my day a little brighter. :exercise:

I was a little nervous about coming back to school today after what happened on Friday, but my fears were unwarranted. Today has been great.

My DH gave me a really nice compliment last night. We were talking about how we had been pretty much stuck at home because of all of the ice. He told me he was really proud of the way that I stuck to my plan in the midst of being stuck at home. He said he couldn't believe how I just watched everyone snack (constantly, I might add) and didn't even flinch. Sometimes it does get hard because I have 2 teenage sons who do eat a great deal, especially on days like we had this past weekend. And, of course, they fix all the stuff I normally liked to eat with them.

One of my sons is very active, plays lots of sports and took after his dad's side of the family. He can't keep weight on. My oldest son, took after me, and is going to have to be careful with his weight. I've spoken with him several times about developing good eating habits now so that he doesn't end up with a weight problem. However, I often wonder if it just goes in one ear and out the other because he sees that I am still overweight. I hope that by me losing this weight, I will somehow be a little more credible in his eyes when it comes to discussing healthy eating, etc.

I was looking at some pictures of me back in 1994 when I was at my goal weight. I was 28 years old and I looked good. I felt good about my body and worked out everyday. Then everything went crazy. My mother died of brain cancer at age 53. My world came crashing down on me. It was such a shock to my happy little world and nothing has been the same since. I didn't get fat right away.....at first I actually lost more weight because I just couldn't eat......but that slowly began to change.....it seemed like I just started eating more and more.......I guess I was trying to fill the void with food. Why I thought that was a good substitute, I'll never know.

Anyway..........that is a very painful part of my life.....one that unfortunately gets even worse than just losing my mom. But, I can't go there right now.

I do, however, want to get back to looking that good again, even though I am now 40. I may not be as young, but I can be as thin again.

40 is very young! It better be, I am about to be 35! Be proud of yourself for wanting to set a good example for your son and you never know how many others you will touch on this board and elsewhere by your example.

Yeah Donica, 40 is very young (since, by the way, I'm 39) ! Your husbands compliment makes it even more worthwhile being compliant...makes you want to keep doin' it (i'm talking about being compliant)!

Keep Shaking!
