Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the Dole bagged lettuce. I guess there have been cases of ecoli from it, and it supposed to be pulled from shelves for now. Read this online, so do a google to find the articles.

My local grocer had them all pulled when I was there last night. Pretty scary, since I had 2 bags in my fridge! I threw them away. But we had eaten out of them both.

I bought heads of lettuce today, but I hear they can have it too. I got severe diarrhea after eating my L&G tonight now I am wondering if my head of lettuce was corrupted! eek


I don't know who to trust anymore, and it would sure be difficult for me to cut lettuce out of my L&G. I eat salads a lot.

What a scary world we live in.

It's like NOTHING is safe! Thanks for the heads up! I have a bag of dole lettuce in my hotel fridge!

I saw a TV report that bascially said all prepackaged lettuce has a bigger chance of Ecoli than anything else. You just need to wash EVERYTHING...I mean EVERYTHING. Salad doesn't last very long when exposed to air. They way the farmers do things with the workers...will turn your stomach. Enjoy!

Dole just settled a lawsuit about this, but there haven't been any recent reports. At least, I haven't seen any, and I work in a newsroom. Google just turned up some older stories, plus stories about the lawsuit.

Good grief! You can tell I live in the sticks. I just got word of this last week, so I thought it was current news.

Since the local grocer didn't have any Dole bagged lettuce I just thought it was because of the ecoli.

Sorry for old news. Oh well, it was new news to me! LOL

I am avoiding bags for a while. Guess I will try the organic.

It's still a good reminder. Even the bagged salads should be washed off before you eat them!
