Hey, Robin, glad to see ya!

I suspect that if you choose to get back into "control" with the treadmill/running thing, the foodie issues will dissipate. I've found (and I think you did too) that the more I focus on the running/exercising, the more consistently health conscious I am, and I make food choices based on how best to fuel my workouts. I got the same sense from you, so perhaps just re-focusing on your treadmill work will help gear you up in food land. Also, it will help you sleep to get that exercise back in.

Just a thought.

Hope you're having a great time in Denver!

Thanks, Lauren. I know all that; the workouts have just been difficult with everything else going on. I was away from a treadmill and really unable to even leave the house for very long when I was at my uncle's. Then I had the schedule change with the new job, and couldn't manage to get up early enough to run because I was having trouble adjusting to the new sleeping schedule. I've had some huge adjustments to make in the past month or so. I have no doubt I'll get back on track; it's just a question of which I can manage first - the running or the sleep.

I know, it's the damn chicken and the egg, huh? Need sleep to run, need to run to get some sleep.

Hope one happens soon so the other may follow!

Good luck, I know you'll be in great form soon enough!

Exactly! I'm going to try to sleep without the sleeping pill tonight, though. Those things make me too groggy. So hopefully that means I'll be up bright and early to hit the treadmill again.

And Alex, if you're reading ... stupid Ducks! I was at the game tonight in Denver. Too bad they didn't show up. Even my Teemu let me down.

Two penalties for having too many men on the ice?? Please. And it seemed like every time they had the puck, they just turned it right over to the Avs. They took a lot of shots, but most of 'em barely even counted as shots. Sigh.

Meanwhile, I've been so-so while I've been here. I stopped taking the sleeping pills, then didn't sleep at ALL on Tuesday night, mostly because of problems with my little white-noise machine. But then I got up and ran anyway, which was good. Ate pretty decently yesterday, too. Had a bit of birthday cake, but took only a tiny slice and then didn't eat half of it because it was very good, but I just didn't feel like having any more. Then slept a little better last night, but woke up feeling not so great, so i skipped the run (and ate not such a good breakfast). Sigh. I know I'm up MAYBE a pound or two, and I also know it's mostly water and bloat. But I feel absolutely HUGE today. Blech.

And btw, ZILCH from JDG yesterday, other than a phone call thanking me for the sugar-free chocolates I sent HIM. Interesting, since I had pretty much resolved that I was going to break up with him after the play next weekend (our last planned date). I realize I'm out of town, but he DID ask me at one point where I was staying. Hmph.

okay, okay.... i'm glad my boys pulled it together and stuck it to the coyotes last night. as far as perry's hand-pass-- owen nolan's goal was with a high stick and saprykin clearly punched his goal in (his glove stuck out a good 3" beyond his stick, and you can see the puck never went below the glove line). it's nice to see the guys catch a few breaks, you know?

GO TEEMU!!! god, that guy is great. did you see that back-hander in ot? beautiful. there's a home-and-home against the kings this weekend. i hope last night's game gives them a little of their fire back.

i wish you lived locally still; i'd have someone to go with that would actually understand me screaming out, "you suck, koharski!"

I didn't get to see any of the games since the one in Denver. I don't think they were nationally broadcast, although I wasn't around to watch anyway. The closest I came was watching the ticker on ESPN Saturday night. Sigh. But at least they won.

So I'm back, and yes, up a couple of pounds. I'm going to see if just going back to my normal eating will get rid of them; if not, I'll do Medifast for a week or two to take care of it. At least I got up 10 minutes before the alarm today and walked/ran (mostly walked, but it's a start. or a restart).

Stayed home yesterday because I was just so exhausted from everything. Then today found out my car battery's dead, so I'm here waiting for AAA to come. Grrrrr.

No, I'm still back and forth about him. Sigh. So let's see ...

He picked me up at the airport with a balloon and a choice of water or Diet Coke. Then he had another balloon and a welcome-home bouquet at my door, but my pet sitter found them and brought them in (and texted me, so she blew the surprise).

He laughed at the bday card I gave him (which included a whoopie cushion) and was very happy about the DVDs. Was very surprised that I was paying for dinner, even though I TOLD him I was going take him out for his birthday. Was very nice when I emphasized that I was tired and needed some time alone that evening. Offered to just drop me off after dinner, but I said it was OK to come in and see the dogs and everything, just not to stay too late. So he came in, played with the dogs a bit, helped me clean up a little of the stuff Mojo had torn up while I was away (a dog bed, a phone cord, and a Zip-loc bag of Medifast packets from my trip to L.A.), but then left nice and early.

And apparently is sending me chocolate-covered strawberries and apples from Edible Arrangements (first he asked about sending me something at work, then today called to ask if I eat/like strawberries and apples; we just saw an Edible Arrangements store recently, and they have a box like that, so I'm guessing that's what's going on. He's very sweet, but not good at surprises).

Friday night we're going to some blues bar or something with some of his friends, who wanted to take him out for his birthday. Saturday we have the play. And I think then I'll need to make some sort of decision.

No loss yet, and I couldn't bring myself to run this morning. I'm going to try to at least walk tonight, though (especially after turning JDG down for dinner tonight and tomorrow night). Actually brought some Medifast foods today for some of my mini-meals, to help me cut back a little. I'm going to stick with this through Saturday, since I have dinner plans Friday and Saturday plus the fruit thing apparently coming today. Then I think Sunday I'll start doing a modified Medifast for a bit to get back down. With basically two lean and greens to help keep my calories up enough so I can get back to my running - and start lifting again by next weekend.

He's making himself very hard to dump. I just got a huge arrangement from Edible Arrangements, with tons of fruit and some giant chocolate-covered strawberries. My co-workers (the women and gay men, at least) are very impressed. The straight guys are pretty silent.
