Funny you should say that! The Cuban sandwich was my other choice, but the line was too long. And I originally was going there for gelato, but it was too cold even for ME to have ice cream. Doesn't help that I get colder much more easily these days.

(But a frozen cookie? I don't know if I'd eat that, even for you. A fresh, warm one, yes.)

ok, then don't freeze it-- just refrigerate it.
it makes the inside so doughy and good.

it isn't fair that i live relatively close to tito's tacos and didi reese.

it's not fair, damnit!

ha. my problem is the new state. i've lived here over a year and haven't been able to try most of the local restaurants and food chains. trying just one a week, it'll take FOREVER to get through them all just to find out which are my favorites.

next week i'm hoping to wait till wednesday for free day. and then have either taco cabana or the chinese place near me that delivers. (maybe taco cabana, since i think there's one near my gym. maybe they even have a drive-through. i haven't been to a drive-through in over a year. i haven't been yet, of course, but it kinda reminds me of rubio's. except i'm sure they don't have rubio's fish tacos.)

130.4, which excellent after a free day (and for weighing an hour earlier than normal, when i always seem to weigh a bit higher).

Today will be a no-workout day so I can go get a new tire. Or possibly tires, but I hope not. I can see Lincoln's face but not his hair, so I think that means the tires are still OK. Can't find my Firestone paperwork from when I bought the darn things, and I really don't want another Firestone tire anyway, so I'm going to Discount Tire instead. I wanted to use Costco, but they don't have any tires for my car in stock and I can't wait a couple of days.

128.8. Excellent.

Did treadmill today, and went up to 5.2 mph for my 10 effort. Did 3.5/3.8/4.2/4.6/5.2, all at a 2 incline.

Food still at 1,000 calories, with about 25% carbs.

Did I mention my big progress today? This is the first day in ages - I'm talking years - that I actually feel good about the way I look, at least below the neck. I'm wearing one of my new sweaters from the Dillard's clearance place (multicolored with stripes - horizontal stripes) and the jeans I got at Stein Mart (brand is Jean Star - midrise, skinny legs, boot-cut, which to them means flared at the bottom) and I actually think I look kinda hot. Not that anyone else has noticed, but whatever. It's still a huge deal for me.

Even my latest muscle magazine has an article on body image. Go figure. (And yes, my latest. I'm thinking of subscribing to TWO bodybuilding magazines. How weird is that?)

Meanwhile, I'm worried about tomorrow. It's supposed to rain all day and I KNOW I'm not going to want to go to the gym. I liked lifting so much more when I could do it at home.

I'm too afraid that if I saw a photo of myself in the outfit, I'll think it doesn't look so great after all. I'd rather hang onto my delusions. :)

Meanwhile, 128.6 today. It's cold and rainy, and my old bones are decidedly creaky today, so I really don't want to go to the gym. But I will. I need to save the excuses for when I'm REALLY sick. Or an ice storm.

Food will be about the same as always, although I may pick up some broccoli or something and have a hot dinner instead of a salad.

And the big rack of firewood left by the sellers toppled over, so once the rain is gone, I apparently get to spend a day restacking firewood. Oh, joy. Unless I can get someone to take it off my hands.

Hey Robin, why pay for a gym membership when you've got all-in-one cardio and lifting right at home? I say you stack the wood at a brisk pace and then knock the whole pile over for the next day!! You can spend more on clothing and accessories if you're not shelling out the bucks for the gym!

I know you've already seen my other post about how glad I am that your efforts in cognitive restructuring are finally having an effect, but I just wanted to reiterate that I think it's great that you're finally seeing a little of what everybody else sees when they look at you! Now, knock it off with the "from the neck down" comments! You are SO pretty, and I'm gonna' keep telling you so until you own it just to shut me up!!

Thanks, SoJo. I'm working on it, but I honestly just don't see it. I figure if I can't improve the face (short of surgery, which I won't do), then I can at least work on the body.

I'm dreading the stupid wood pile. But I need to start on it tomorrow because I'm terrified of rodents getting in there. I just hope my arms aren't too sore from the gym. (But first I think I'll call my repair guy in the morning and see if he wants the wood. Or knows someone who does.)

Oh, that's not my problem. My skin is actually very nice. It's my features I don't like. Unless the dermabrasion will trim my nose or the peels will peel off a few layers of it ...

Anyway, 127.8 today. Woo hoo!!! And that's WITH some soreness from the gym.

Treadmill today.

LOL

Thanks, Alex. If I lived closer, you wouldn't have to. (I mean we'd hang out as FRIENDS. If I played on your team, you'd totally be my type, though.)

Meanwhile, I'm nicely sore today. But I can't even budge the firewood rack, unless I take off whatever logs are still on it. I left a message for my repair guy/contracter/whatever he is. I'm also going to ask the pest-control guy tomorrow when he comes. Somebody's gotta want this stuff.
