Just got back from the gym, and I sure don't feel like an athlete. I spent half my time lowering the weights from where the previous user had 'em. Sigh. Although my abs are SO much stronger than they used to be. I was excited about that, at least. But I barely have control of the motor function in my lower body right now. Ugh.

And I limit carbs, too, because I'm so used to low-carbing. My "free days" are all about carbs and sugar, and I lose control pretty quickly, so I'm trying to not have carbs alone, even on those days.

OK, so my plan is to stay at this level for a couple of weeks, then add 50 calories to one of my lower-calorie meals (right now I have three meals around 150-200 calories and three around 100 calories). I'm going to do that until they're all around 200 (except my last one; I'm leaving my late-night pudding alone for now). When I get there and am having about 1100 calories a day, I'll start adding to my two bigger meals (usually breakfast and dinner) until they're each about 300. That'll get me to 1300 calories a day. And then I'll see how I'm doing. If I need more, I'll probably boost dinner a bit. And MAYBE double my pudding.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I always feel better when I have a defined plan. I never realized how much I like structure.

129.2. Very good after a lifting day.

Exercise: treadmill. Food: Same as usual, at around 950 calories. I go up to 1,000 on Thursday (although I think Wednesday is a free day, since I have tentative plans; I'll see how I'm doing by then).

129.6, with a day off from exercise (worked out nicely, since I had to get up early for blood tests).

Anyway, mostly the same food. Spinach instead of peppers with my Egg Beaters (plus a spoonful of feta), and broccoli soup for my second meal (because I want to start using it up).

I'm starting to rethink increasing my calories so much. Because if ThinknThin maintained on 1500, I'll need to stay lower to lose a few more pounds. So I may need to stay around 1000 for a while. I think I'll wait and see how my body fat's doing when I see the trainer. Although Tanita seems to be showing it dropping slowly. I think more quickly since I got the treadmill.

Sigh. Sometimes people just drive me crazy. I was talking to a friend at work about our respective workouts, and she was complaining that even though she's working out so much, she's not losing weight. Does she really think she can eat cake and cookies and chocolate and fries and stuff all the time and lose weight??

Today she was "healthy" and brought her dinner. But then she "had" to go out to get garlic bread to go with it. Hello?

129.2, with my usual sandbox issue (despite having half a box of frozen spinach at breakfast yesterday).

Upped the workout today:
minutes 1-5: warm-up
6-8: 3.7 mph, 1 incline
8-9: 3.7 mph, 2 incline
9-10: 3.7 mph, 3 incline
10-11: 3.7 mph, 4 incline
11-12: 4.5 mph, 4 incline
12-13: 3.7 mph, 2 incline
13-14: 3.7 mph, 3 incline
14-15: 3.7 mph, 4 incline
15-15: 4.5 mph, 4 incline
etc.
Level 10 was 5.0 mph, 4 incline

129.6, although it's probably lower (this was a couple of hours early because I had a doc appt).

So anyway, I'm ecstatic. The doc first was surprised that I would want to lose any more weight, then said I shouldn't lose more than 3 pounds or so. He also was THRILLED with my bloodwork, which is pretty much letter-perfect. Said I can either cut my Zocor in half or just stop taking it completely; I told him I have about three months' worth at home, so I'll take it awhile longer in case things change now that my diet has changed. But HDL was up to 45 (fabulous for me), cholesterol was down, LDL was down, blood sugar was perfect, etc. Blood pressure was 100/70, higher than my normal 90/70 but I figure after sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half, I'm surprised it wasn't higher!!

He also asked about Body for Life. Was thrilled with the exercise and the fish oil I take and my diet (as far as all the soy I eat and that I eat six times a day and all that), but said if I want to lose body fat I should increase my fats (with plant fats, like olive oil and nuts) and lower my carbs. He suggested closer to 40% protein, 40% fat, 20% carbs. As we all know, I'm a huge fan of low-carbing, so I'm going to give it a shot. I wanted to cut back on carbs a bit anyway.

Anyway, I'm thrilled to pieces with everything. He did some sort of calculation of heart-disease risk and I came out as good as I possibly could, he said. He said to just keep it up and don't start smoking, and I'm great. And he set me up for a mammogram, which I knew I needed.

I'm so jazzed. Although thinking about it, I don't think I want to go with quite those ratios. I'm going to try to keep carbs around 25% and fat somewhere between 20 and 30 (mostly from plant sources), with protein as the rest. Six days a week, of course. I'm keeping the free day!!

I like to make the traditional caprese salad but I add avocado slices to it. MMM. I was thinking about that last night when I had caprese for dinner.

That would be great except for the tomatoes. I hate tomatoes unless they're in something like a sandwich. I like the rest, though!!

Today:
130.4, very good after a free day.
Treadmill
First day of reducing carbs. Breakdown today is basically 49% protein, 22% carbs (86 grams, including 32 grams fiber), 29% fat.

THIS IS ALL PHENOMENAL NEWS! What a great thing you have done for yourself with your Medifast and Maintnenace plan. It was very interesting the ratios he recomended also, I'll have to keep that in mind when I get to goal. In the mean time, enjoy Avacadoes for all of us! Have a great day!
