OK, for the record.

129.8 again. Did the treadmill for 27 minutes (level 6 was 3.5 mph at 1 incline, level 10 was 4.5 mph at 4 incline).

Food:
Egg Beaters, peppers/onions, feta, tortillas
Broccoli soup w/ crackers
Stacey's soy crisps
Salad, chicken, feta
BFL bar
Pudding

Total: 953 calories, 42% protein, 37% carb, 20% fat

I'm going to stay at 950 or so for a while and not worry about the scale and see if it helps. I'd like to get my calories up if I can.

129.4. This is the first day I actually don't want to go to the gym (I'm going anyway, of course). And the first time ever that what I really want to do is hit the treadmill instead of lifting weights.

Anyway, better get moving so I have time to work out, pick up something to make for dinner and get everything done in time for services.

Food's off today because of Yom Kippur, of course. Normal breakfast, probably a BFL bar after my workout, and I'm thinking steak and veggies for dinner because the protein and fat help make the fast a little easier.

Argh. This is my first time skipping the gym. I may be rationalizing, but ...

1) I realized there wasn't much chance I'd be able to get my full workout and still have time to do everything I needed to before services.

2) I remembered that I was FREEZING on Rosh Hashana and that I don't even own a sweater that fits anymore.

3) I was worried that fasting so soon after lifting would cause recovery/rebuilding problems.

So I didn't go to the gym and instead I went out and bought a couple of sweaters (one brown, one black, for the two outfits I'll be wearing to services). And then went and picked up stuff for dinner. Oh, well.

Geez. For my dinner before the fast, I went a little crazy and I thought it was a horrible binge (and it kind of was, since it was all at one time). I let myself get too hungry because I was trying to get ready for services first.

So when I ran my whole day through FitDay, I still only came out to 1450 calories. Granted, more fat and carbs than usual, and more calories, but not nearly as horrible as I thought it was.

Ugh. I hate it, but it's the only thing that actually holds the girls completely still. So if I'm really going to do this jogging thing, I'm going to have to get used to it.

Speaking of jogging, I swear, I'm in withdrawal after two days with no workout. I can't wait till tomorrow morning, so I can get back onto the treadmill. I'm going to try jogging for level 9, and then just go faster for level 10.

BLECH. I had some chocolate chips and pistachios (and a small spoonful of peanut butter) to break the fast with something sweet. Then had a salad, a whole lot of garlic bread (it was really good) and a slice of pizza. Couldn't finish the bread OR the pizza, and I feel disgusting. (Sadly, my tummy is just fine, though. Why doesn't this upset my stomach like it does with other people??) Plus I decided to go all the way and had Diet Coke instead of water (although I did have one bottle first thing after fasting).

Anyway, to get back on track and hopefully feeling a bit better, I'm going to have an RTD in a bit, and then another a few hours after that. And try to push some water. Hopefully after that and a good workout in the morning, I'll be back to normal. (The rest of the pizza's already in the freezer. As for the garlic bread? Errrrr, there isn't any more. I tossed the bit I didn't eat.)

Again, though, probably not nearly as bad as I think, and certainly nowhere near what I'd have eaten a couple of years ago. But I don't like feeling this way. I should've just had the pizza. Or the garlic bread. But not both. And if I had waited till AFTER dinner to have dessert, I totally wouldn't have eaten any.

The good news is I think the next time I feel like something sweet, I'll be reaching for either a sugar-free Popsicle, a Medifast pudding or a Body For Life bar.

131.0, which is standard after a free day (or really almost two, because of the holiday). Upped my workout a bit, so my BFL treadmill was:
5 minutes warm-up (mostly 3.5 mph at 1 incline)
2 minutes, 3.5 mph and 2 incline
1 minute, 3.5 mph and 3
1 minute, 3.5 mph and 4
1 minute, jog 4.0 mph and 4
1 minute, 3.5 mph and 3
1 minute, 3.5 mph and 4
1 minute, jog 4.0 mph and 41 minute, 3.5 mph and 3
1 minute, 3.5 mph and 4
1 minute, jog 4.0 mph and 41 minute, 3.5 mph and 3
1 minute, 3.5 mph and 4
1 minute, jog 4.0 mph and 4
1 minute, jog 4.5 mph and 4
2 minutes, 3.5 mph and 1
1 minute cool-down, 3.0 mph and no incline

Food's pretty normal today:
Egg Beaters, peppers/onions, feta, 2 tortillas
Oatmeal
Glenny's soy crisps
Salad, chicken, feta
BFL bar
Pudding

963 calories, 45% protein, 33% carb, 22% fat. I'm going to stick to 950 for the rest of the week and see how it goes, and then maybe increase it to 1,000 a day. But maybe the two free meals this week shook things up a little.

130.6, dropping down from free day. Today I'm going to the gym. I was going to do lower body, but my legs are kind of sore (I think from the treadmill), so I'm thinking I might do upper body instead. My routine's messed up since I missed my workout over the weekend, so it doesn't matter too much.

I'm in kind of a down mood, and I don't know why.

Gym. Very sore already. Going to lie on the couch and whimper the rest of the night.

The good news? I finally found the perfect pair of shorts to wear to the gym (bike shorts too tight, running shorts too short). In the boys/youth department. Yay.

130.2 and sore, although it's not too bad yet. Last week it got worse the next day. Also had extra salt yesterday because I was out of cooked chicken breasts so I put some deli ham and turkey on my salad instead.

Treadmill today (already done). Food about the same as it's been, although no feta at breakfast today (all the store has had is the tomato-basil in the low-fat, and it has too much basil in it for my taste, at least with eggs).

Hiya Robin!! First of all, I had to laugh when you posted in Reginia's journal that you get tired just reading about her weekend adventures, 'cause just reading about your exercise routine wipes me out completely!

So, are you still having trouble seeing yourself as thin? 'Cause I gotta' tell you...I saw you at school today and you looked awesome! LOL. This woman in one of my classes is a bit younger than us (36), but she stands 5'2" tall and wears size 4 jeans. Girrrrrrl, she is teensy-weensy! I can't imagine being that size and not knowing it! You're prolly all buff and cut now too, huh?

Far, far from it. And I suspect she wears a 4 in brands I can't wear. I'm really mostly a 6 still, but still shooting for a 4 in all brands. Maybe even a 2.

I miss the quick results of dieting, though (even at my slow pace, it was quicker than it is from working out). And I'm still not sure if I'm taking in enough calories (I kinda doubt it). So far, I seem to have done better when I was working out on my own, so I'm not thrilled with the personal training thing. I'm going to meet with her in two weeks, and if I haven't seen better progress by then, I'm going to ask them to give me someone else. (I also need to call her or something, because I keep running into machines that just aren't built for someone my size.)

But the workout thing is still very strange to me - and everyone who knows me. The treadmill, in particular, has never been my friend before. But now I just want to jog/run more and more and walk less. I'm trying to take it slow, though, and not go overboard. But I LOVE getting on there and just killing myself, and coming off all drenched in sweat. How weird is that??

Ark, you do more than I do!!! I'm still doing a slightly modified Body For Life workout - at least the cardio part - so I'm only on there about 25 minutes, four times a week. You're the one walking 4 miles, and apparently speed-walking!!

I'm tempted to go longer, but the book says 20 minutes a day (I do 25 because I do a longer warm-up and cool-down) three days a week.
