Thanks. Just doing a quick fly-by for now. Was flirting with a virus or flu or something over the weekend, but it was gone by last night. So I actually not only did Wii Fit again, but I did some strength training on it. I actually rated "bodybuilder" on a few things. Anyway, by the time I finished my legs were complete jelly, and they were still kinda wobbly this morning. So I figured running was probably a bad idea, and I did hill intervals instead. I thought for sure my legs were going to give out when I was walking down the stairs in the parking structure at work. Yeesh.

Weight's still just holding steady. I'm tempted to drop the calories a bit, but I'm reluctant because I'm feeling so much better lately. I'm hoping I just hit a snag in the verrrrrrry slow drop because last week's exercise was a little off. Plus I figure today I was probably up a little because my muscles are retaining some water.

Hi, Leigh. Yeah, I'm OK. Just having trouble balancing this board and my other one (not to mention work and life; ha). Still plugging away, though.

I hope everyone's doing well here. It does seem awfully quiet.

Hurumph. Well, it would seem to me that if the "other board" is so busy, you're more needed here! hahaha

Glad you're doing well, hope the job is good and busy, you were sounding bored there for a while...

Cheers!

Oh, still bored, but I do have SOME work. Some of the time, at least. The rest of the time ... let's just say I'm getting really good at Text Twist. LOL.

Just a quick drive-by. I hope everyone's doing well.

I'm doing fine. Up a pound for no good reason, but today I'm wearing some pants that used to be a little tight, so go figure. Workouts still mostly on track, except I'm short a day this week. I'm blaming allergy pills, humidity and my shoulder (which is killing me after I tried to start doing push-ups again; I did 'em on the counter to build my strength back up, but even that might have been a bit too much).

I don't know what it is, but the idea of being able to do a 'real' pushup always makes me think that I would be super-strong if I could do that. I still have to do them on my knees but I wonder if I'd have enough strength to do the real ones after I lost 100 pounds? That's my excuse, you know - that I'm lifting more weight than a normal person so that's why I can't do real ones.

Take it easy, after all you went through getting healthy you don't want to break yourself again. Congrats on the pants - the number on the scale is only a number, but how your body feels is the better judge of progress. (Saying that to myself at the same time....)

Yeah, I'm not even attempting the regular push-ups again till I'm sure I can handle them. The good news is my shoulder doesn't hurt in the same place, so I'm hoping this is just normal workout soreness and not anything worse. I did 'em yesterday, so I figure I'll lay off it today and see how it is tomorrow. If it's not better, then I may need to stick with the PT exercises instead. Sigh.

I got a new shipment of food last night, though, so that was fun. Got to try a new dessert, plus had a dinner I haven't had in a while because I ran out. I was going to skip next month because I have so much (I skipped last month, too), but they've given me a couple of extra discounts for no apparent reason (for the second time in a row), so I want to take advantage of those. So I'll get next month's shipment and then skip two or three, depending on how many they'll let me skip while still keeping my discount. Their auto-ship deal is similar to Medifast's.

Happy Monday! (If there is such a thing in the working world, right?)

Hope you're enjoying the fresh food shipment - no matter what plan you're on that's always fun. In fact, maybe that's part of the problem - should we really enjoy opening packages of food so much that it's like Christmas? Oh well, I'll just tell myself it makes me happy because it's like unpacking my new body one month at a time....

Leigh, you have a photo!!! Nice to see you. :) (But as for shoulders healing quickly? It's been about nine months already and it's still not where it used to be. Despite lots of therapy and a cortisone shot. the ortho doc said it might never get back to where it was before.)

Karli, nice to see you around here again, too. Sorry I'm not on as much as I used to be.

And Nicks, I don't have a problem with getting that excited about it. That shipment contains stuff that not only tastes good but helps me to be as healthy as I can be. So what's NOT to get excited about?

Well, when you put it that way.... I guess I'm just used to thinking of food as the bad guy. Hard to realize that food does not have to be the enemy. I guess I'd better deal with that or transition will be tough, adding back in foods that have been 'forbidden' for so long.

Exactly. Food isn't good or bad. Food is necessary and, IMO, should be enjoyed.

Just thought I'd check in, since it's been awhile. No real change here. Weight's stable, exercise is going well. I met with a dietitian today, who tested my basal metabolic rate with a cute little machine. Basically, I'm eating exactly as much as I should be eating on days that I work out; I can eat a little less on days that I don't. And her conclusion was that I just might not be able to lose more or get any leaner without "extreme measures," which of course I'm not willing to take.

So I'm sticking with what I've been doing, and trying to be happier with myself the way I am, even though I'd prefer to be a little lighter and leaner. There doesn't seem to be much else I can do.
