I actually like both of them, but for very different reasons. I have both on DVD and watch them every so often. I love when the Gene Wilder version is on network television.

Sure. It's in here a few times, but you'd have to read an awful lot of boring journal. As of today, I'm a mere 5-foot-1. Back in the day, a couple of years ago, I was 5-foot-2.

Oddly enough, pants labeled "petite" or "short" are almost always too short on me. Go figure.

Ha. Yeah, things sure slowed down again yesterday. But Tawanda posted this morning, at least. Sad, though, huh?

No PUSH last night because of storm potential and lingering soreness. And general laziness, but I decided a day off from working out should be a day off from ALL workouts, not just cardio, if it's going to be a true rest day. Anyway, was up kinda late last night because of COURSE the thunder started just after we went to bed, so I had Teemu drooling on me and my pillow and trying to burrow underneath me for over an hour. But still got up and ran this morning. Did 4.3 miles, so it's increasing.

Weight up 0.2, but I'm not concerned. Hopefully it'll drop again tomorrow.

4.3 miles impresses me to no end! :D Good for you, Robin! You are officially my "I need to be able to do that" inspiration for the day. :D

Good morning Ms. Robin! Sorry I haven't been around to bite everyone with my gabby bug! I've been busy lately. Only two weeks of school left and they've been trying to have as many parties, field trips, field days, as possible in the last few days!

We had some storms down here last night but I slept through them all. Kids didn't even wake up.

I think I'm about 25 pages into your journal. I feel that exercise bug coming on. You inspired me to do my ab cruncher and other strength training exercises and it's not even ten yet! It's fun to see you evolve in your journal. I love it!

Well, I need to go check some other peps journals and spread my gabbiness! Hope you have an awesome day!

Geez, Skye, you're gonna be reading forever if you started from the beginning. Ha. I've been here longer than we've HAD journals.

But I'm always so touched (and amazed) that I can inspire anyone. I still have trouble remembering that I'm not the couch potato I've always been - especially when I STILL spend so much time on my couch, watching TV.

And Cyd, I'm pretty proud of that 4.3, too, although my goal right now is to get to 6 miles in an hour. That's going to be a LONG time coming, though. (And geez, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror just after I finished today. I looked like someone had dumped a bucket of water on me. And my face was beet red. It feels SO good to work that hard, though. I didn't know I had it in me!)

well robin, i'm still waiting for you to inspire me! I guess if i were inspired, i would put forth 110% to get there too so i will say "I SOOOO ENVY YOUR DEDICATION TO EXERCISE". One of these days, my inner couch potato (and outer) will be peeled away and i will find myself following your exercise thought process. I am proud of myself for keeping up with my pushups and 3 mile walks (which have been halted due to our rainy days, then baseball). I am slowly but surely adding in the exercise. I am not at the level i wanna be but i am moving forward and THATS what counts. Hmmm, now that i think about it, i guess you and the other hard core exercisers here (like lauren) DO inspire me!

Well, geez, OC, I'm not at the level I want to be, either!!! But I'm closer than I was a year ago, at least.

Although ... my weight is up AGAIN today. I just don't get it. I had an extra few calories yesterday - I was starving so I had an extra packet of apple slices - but there's no WAY that should affect things. I'm down to 1200-1250 calories, run/walking four hours a week and walking two hours a week. Plus strength training (granted, only once so far this week, but for 40 minutes, and I'll do it again tonight). Fat's down to 20 percent. Carbs are down around 30-40 percent. How can I possible gain weight??? (Although I AM still down from where I was last week. But I won't be if I keep gaining a few ounces a day like I did yesterday and today.) I just don't get it.

I'm giving it some more time, cause I'm still lower than I was a week ago. But if nothing happens, I'm gonna have to start getting more proactive. And considering I was just working on a press release about us being one of the leading centers for endocrinology and metabolic research (we do a ton of studies on diet and weight control and all that, and get a TON of money from the Atkins Foundation), I'm hoping I can get some help if I need it.

But it's a wee bit frustrating when the scale drops and then climbs again, even though I know I'm doing everything I should.

No time for a real post this morning, but ... back down a hair this morning, despite having a bit of a treat last night (just a little chocolate and peanut butter - very little, though). Today was a run/walk day - 4.35 miles. Yay. No PUSH last night, either, though. I was waiting to digest my dinner a little and fell asleep on the couch.

Morning, chickie! How's it going? Good weekend, I hope!

I don't really have anything to say, just wanted to say hello, and make sure you know I'm around! :-)

Cheers,

Lauren

Hiya, Lauren. Back from your trip?

I'm OK. Went out to eat yesterday for lunch and did spectacularly well. It was Sweet Tomatoes, and I had planned to stick with salad and soup, and avoid the breads and pastas, but allow myself half a chocolate brownie muffin with a little low-fat ice cream. BUT they were out of brownie muffins when I went for one, and the woman was refilling the ice cream machine. So instead of waiting for them to bring out muffins and finish with the machine, I decided it was the universe's way of telling me I didn't need either one, and I should just wait to indulge in Austin next weekend. So I told my friend I was ready to go (she had already had dessert), and we took off.

And then I got a new yoga mat for my PUSH workouts, and actually DID my workout last night. Did my run this morning, too, but I was still kinda sore and tired from last night, so I was struggling some. And I'm SO not ready for week 3 of C25K, so I'm going to try to work my way up to it by next week.

Oh, and I think I saw some back muscles poking through this morning. It may have been my imagination, but I was pretty excited. I have the little line that goes down the middle of my back, but you can't really see the muscles back there. Or even shoulder blades so much. (Although that could also be cause I have a bit of a curve in my shoulders. Not sure if it's a spinal problem or a little osteoporosis or what.)
