Yeah, I'm gonna see how it goes over the next few days. It may be that I just need to keep my calories and fat pretty darn low. Forever. (Hey, but if the big famine ever hits, I'll be the last woman standing.)

The doc kinda said as much. Basically, keep doing what I'm doing, eat healthy, keep calories low, keep exercising. Sigh. I'm back down to around 1200-1250 a day, and only 20 percent fat. Seems to work best for me, even if it's not much fun.

Have a good trip, Lauren! (I know you won't get this till you're gone, but still.)

That ain't right!!
I get a Mother's Day card from mine every year!
BD card, too... and a couple of times when I've taken
solo vacations, they've given me a "we missed you" card.
How sweet is that?

Of course, yours bring you "presents"
on a frequent basis ~ the rodents, right?
It's all a matter of perception...

They don't even do that!!! Mo tries to keep her dead squirrels to herself most of the time; she's really not interested in sharing. Sigh. (But she was SO cute the last few days when I had some blueberries, which she LOVES. She just couldn't get enough. And I think Teemu was so intrigued when he saw how excited she was that he finally ate the one I gave him. Usually I give him one just to be fair, and then he leaves it and lets her have it.)

Anyway, finally a little good news. I'm down a pound and a half, and I'm hoping it's a trend and not just an aberration. If it IS a trend, then I think I've just got to ignore all the calls to eat more calories and accept that my body's just far too efficient for that.

Oh, and I did MOST of a run this morning, but I accidentally pulled out the emergency stop thing right in the middle of a running interval, which erased all my info on the console. So then I wasn't sure how much longer I had left OR how far I'd gone - and OK, I was just being kinda pissy - so I called it a day. Today I'm wearing my new running shoes to work in hopes that I can get 'em to be at least ALMOST as comfy as my old ones, because the doc said I should be changing 'em every 300 miles - and it's been way longer than that, because I can never seem to find shoes I like as much (and mine are discontinued, of course).

I also cut the string off the stopper thing, because this isn't the first time I've pulled it out by accident.

Oh goodness...I'd have done the same thing! Once I get my lazy butt moving it takes an awful lot to get moving again if something derails my workout. At least you got something in though. I'm glad to hear you're finally working on losing those pesky few pounds...my fingers are crossed that it proves to be a trend. :D

Yeah, I was somewhere around 40 minutes at that point, so I'd at least done the basic C25K workout plus a little more. And here on Sunday I was so proud cause I had to stop midway to go to the bathroom, but I actually got back on and finished. This time I was just too annoyed about it.

Oh, and I did my next PUSH workout last night, which was KILLER. He had a bunch of new moves that I didn't think I could do, but I ended up doing OK with most of 'em. Except it was not only more advanced, I forgot that I'd also changed to a 40-minute workout from the 30-minute ones. So it also seemed never-ending. Lots of odd balancing things, too, like doing a bent-over row while standing on one leg.

And my arm doesn't even hurt too much from the shot yesterday; it's just sore if you put pressure on the actual injection site. So I should be able to do PUSH again tomorrow or Thursday (depending on what time I get home tomorrow night; last night it was really too late to do it because I got home late - but I did it anyway, so yay).

It's funny how different the kids can be, isn't it?
Chloe used to run through her entire repertoire
of tricks the minute she spied or smelled strawberries.
It was so funny - roll over, sit, down, spin... all in a frenzy!
Rusty always takes them, but then immediately spits them
out and then looks at you like "What the hell was that??"
Anyhoo ~ congrats on the pound and a half!

Good Morning Robin! Woohoo on that pound and a half. I've been going back through old journals to keep myself motivated and yours is one that I've been working on. You really are an inspiration to me. Thanks for always posting. I really do appreciate it!

Hope you're having a good day btw!

Yeah, Teemu would be hurt if I didn't give him one, but he pretty much just takes it away, rolls it around a little and then leaves it. SHE gobbles it up and then comes racing back for more till I show her the empty bowl. But last night he kept watching her get more berries, and then he'd give his another lick each time, and finally he just went ahead and ate it. I don't think he wanted a second one, though. She had five or six before I cut her off. I keep telling her she's gonna end up like Violet Beauregard.

And thank you. I sure hope it's part of a trend and I'm finally turning things back around. (And OK, I'm hoping I can get back down to goal before I go to Austin next Friday, so I can relax some while I'm there, knowing I just need to cut my calories back down when I get home.)

Fer shure.
8)
What do you get when you guzzle down sweets?
Eating as much as an elephant eats!
What are you at getting terribly fat?
What do you think will come of that?
I don't like the look of it!

:roflmao:

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Ah, but which version? Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp? Or neither (that was one of my favorite books when I was a kid, too)?

Yay. Scale number is still dropping, so I'm encouraged. And my abs, but and thighs are burning from the PUSH workout the other night (arms a little, too, but they usually don't get very sore). Today was my day off from cardio (and good thing, since we had bad thunder all morning and the dogs were glued to my side); I'm going to try to do PUSH tonight if I get home early enough. Hopefully the rain will be gone by the time I go home, because a) tomorrow will be tough since I have to stop on my way home and b) tomorrow morning is a running day, and I'm less sore the morning after PUSH than I am two days later.

Getting my bone density test this morning, and at some point I need to pick a day for blood work and schedule my mammogram. Did I say I met my new doc the other day? Nice, and knowledgeable, but wasn't much help on the hamstring front (partly because it wasn't hurting much at the time). He did say the ridiculously high heart rate when I'm running is nothing to be worried about, as long as I'm not having chest pain or weakness or anything like that.

Well, crud. I've apparently shrunk ANOTHER half an inch. Which not only is bad news as far as bones and stuff, but it also means I need to drop a little more weight. Dammit. No wonder I have to eat so few calories. I'm a shrimp.
