OK, I think I'm done talking about anything other than the basics here. It's just not worth it to me.

So, for my own records ...

Walked to the junior high, then around the campus looking for a track, then home. Total of about 5 miles. Never found a track, just a football field (of course; this IS Texas) reserved for school use. And a whole lot of fire-ant mounds, both at the school and on the way there.

So I don't think I'll be doing that again, since I don't really want to have to carry Epi-Pens when I run (not to mention the risk of passing out before I can get to them). I may check the high school tomorrow, or I may just keep going on the treadmill and only walk or run outside during 5K races.

Sorry that my suggestion on the other thread caused such a ruckous. That was not my intention at all!

I have been away from Texas too long-I had forgotten about those. We don't have them here.

Yeah, I kinda didn't think about 'em before I moved here. But I'm highly allergic. It's cold enough right now that I THINK they're not active. But I don't really want to take the chance, so I think I'll be staying indoors most of the time.

I have traumatic childhood memories of what they could do to a small child's feet and legs. Thankfully, it was never me. I think you are wise to be cautious.

They can kill me, so I don't have much choice. I got my bee allergy from being stung by fire ants as a kid (they're related). And the one time I was stung by a bee - one sting, mind you - I went into anaphylactic shock, passed out and nearly died. So I'm not taking any chances around those things, especially when I'm alone.

Anyway, an NSV yesterday that I forgot about. I now wear a smaller bra size (the band part, not the cup). I thought mine were just getting stretched out or something, but I grabbed a smaller one I had bought awhile back that was too tight to wear - and I can wear it on the tightest hook. (So I guess technically I might have even dropped two sizes.) Yay!

Gonna do Body For Life intervals this morning, with an extra 15 minutes of walking tacked on at the end.

Something's definitely finally working. So yay for that.

And I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the BFL intervals over straight running. Did 'em today (to a max of 6 mph, although I think I can push it a little harder). Ended up going just as far in my 45 minutes as I did on my longest run, and I enjoyed it SO much more (and walked more of the time). And best of all, after focusing more on walking than running for the past couple of weeks, my hamstrings feel better than they have in a month, so I think I'm on the right track. So to speak.

Robin, is your treadmill one that has a padded running surface? I'm not sure 'padded' is the right word--but some treadmills are made more for runners than walkers. My treadmill was a hand-me-down from my mother, she bought it, never really used it and passed it on to me when mine died --mine was also a hand-me-down from her, she gave me her barely used old one when she decided she needed a newer one. See, my avoidance of treadmills and exercising comes from genetics. ;) I come from a long line of exercise 'avoiders'/'procrastinators'. :D

I'm not sure, T. It's cushioned, I know that. I think it's a Sole F63, which at the time was rated a "best buy" at treadmilldoctor dot com (but apparently shortly after I bought it, they raised the price considerably, so it isn't anymore; although it looks like the price has dropped back down again).

131.8. Walked my 3 miles this morning. I'm going to try to do the afternoon tape, too, if I can get away from my desk.

132.2. Still no idea what's going on, but at least it's dropping down a little again. Weird, though.

Anyway, walking today.
