It might be. But it's not like I haven't had a ton of veggies today already, so I don't care all that much. As long as it's not full of fat and calories and carbs, I'll be happy just to get out for a bit and socialize with my friend.

Even though I'd really rather just go home to the dogs and the couch. But if I did what I'd rather do, I'd NEVER socialize.

Dang but cheesecake sounds heavenly.......but salad and a lean will be what is on my dinner plate tonight. ;) Good for you Robin on the great choices you make!

Me either. Leave me at home in my jammies, bedhead and glasses. I'll order my groceries and clothes online. When I go out I have to fiddle with the contacts, iron my hair, deal with the make-up, the outfit...that's when I am meeting a friend or going to the dink/therapy/doc. For Starbucks I do all of that except iron the hair.

CheeseCAKE, T?? Umm, all I mentioned was Cheez WHIZ, Miss Freudian Slip.

And so much for the great choices. No salad on the menu, and I didn't feel like trying to special-order. The good news is it wasn't greasy, there was a minimum of cheese on it (I requested provolone instead of Whiz), I had chicken instead of beef and I ate one french fry from my friend's order (because they were spicy fries and I wanted to taste 'em). The bad news is I was ready to stop after half a sandwich but I ate the whole thing.

Minimal damage, though: 134.2, which obviously I'm not happy about, but it should be down after one day of healthy choices. Now my only debate today is whether to try to cram in a run before the pest-control guy comes, or eat breakfast first and run after he's gone. Probably the latter, because otherwise I'll be all sweaty and smelly and flushed when he gets here. (Hey!!! Stop all that snickering!)

And Biki, that's more effort than I go to even to go to work in the morning. I don't even DRY my hair lately, let alone style it. Sigh.

DogMa wrote:Sigh. A friend just invited me along to review a new, authentic cheesesteak place. I checked their menu online and they have no salads or anything like that. So I was a good girl and said I can't go.

LOL!! I did read it as a cheesecake place instead of cheesesteak!!! :D I wondered where the cheese-whiz came into a cheesecake place. LOL

Okay, so I read too fast and I don't look at all the letters in some words (cheesecake sounded much better than cheesesteak yesterday). Sigh....

LOL. Oddly enough, cheesecake would have been MUCH easier to avoid.

So anyway, I think my weight was actually lower than I thought this morning, because I had some sandbox issues I apparently didn't even realize I had.

So had breakfast, waited for the pest-control guy, and then after he left I forced myself to hit the treadmill (because now I have a specific 5K to get ready for Oct. 13). Walked 5, ran slightly more than 25, walked 15. One more 25-minute run and I bump up to 28 (and then one week of that, and one week of 30 minutes, and I've completed C25K and can work on increasing my speed/endurance so I can actually jog a whole 5K).

Thanks, Hol! I haven't done it yet, but I'm determined. (Although of course, the friend who was out here a few weeks ago - the nonsupportive one - keeps telling me I'm "obsessed" and I can just walk it because her friend who runs marathons walks part of the way. Sigh. I told her that I can already walk or even jog/walk a 5K so there's no challenge in that and that I don't think wanting to jog 3 miles is obesessive. No response so far.)

Meanwhile, 132.4 after two days of NOT using FitDay and just kind of winging it. Yesterday I even went a little lower fat and higher carb (but without counting anything) - the carbs were pretty much all from fruit or high-fiber crackers and tortillas and stuff like that. I'm going to try it again today and see how I do, but maybe I CAN stop tracking so much and start eating more like a normal person.

Today's workout: As soon as the dogs are taken care of, I'm going to walk for an hour on the treadmill. And I still haven't made it to the gym (sigh) so I'm going to try again today. But I'm just not motivated lately for some reason.

I should have already been out there walking but I am using my husband as an excuse. He is still asleep and I don't know if he wants to go...Oh, and what mileage are you getting walking an hour?

I have a very short stride (to go with my short legs), so I usually go 3.5-4 miles.

Oh, I go a little over 3 miles in an hour walking outside so I don't feel like too much of an exercise wimp. Also, I have to deal with traffic and waiting for the light to change and the line at Starbucks which add to my time.

You're not a wimp. I tend to walk faster outside, though. Maybe it's the varied pace. Or the breaks (it's easier for me to walk faster if I'm not doing it constantly). Plus my walks are supposed to be my easier days.

But between your walks and all the stairs you do, you're definitely not a wimp.
