Thanks, you guys. That means a lot.

As far as weight today, your guess is as good as mine. One scale says 133.2; the other, which is always 1-1.4 pounds higher, says 133.6. But I also need more Miralax, so maybe that's what's up. The second scale usually is less likely to go up for things like that (I have no idea why). I also can now see stomach muscles pretty darn clearly even when I'm not holding my stomach in. The belly's still there, but I think it's progress.

Anyway, the treadmill awaits.

Glad you're here, ROBIN, a constant help to us.
We're running neck and neck on the scales. 133.1 this morning.
I put my second scale in a donate box, so someone else can worry about what it says!
Good day today, I say as I sit eating my oatmeal this morning.

I would do that with my scale, but I don't want to use the higher-weight one for my weight (but it has the body-fat percentage on it).

Meanwhile, once again a bad night's sleep = a bad run. So, warm-up walk 5 minutes, run 10, walk 3, run 6 (instead of 10) and walk the rest (till 35 minutes total). Sigh. I'm getting stressed about, of all things, my birthday dinner. Which will be while I'm in Denver, because of the bat mitzvah. But that means a whole lot more people will be going, which in turn means that I won't actually be enjoying it. They keep asking where I want to go that night for dinner, and I think they don't understand why I keep saying I really don't care. Because I just can't get excited, or even interested, in it when I know how much I'm going to hate it. Especially after spending a whole week with the family, and then a weekend with extended family around pretty much 24/7 (and again, large crowds of people, which I don't enjoy at all). So I was up a lot during the night, and now I'm just in a foul mood about the whole thing. At least none of this makes me want to eat.

Hey Robin,

Sorry to hear about the plans for your birthday dinner upsetting you. Hopefully it will exceed all of your expectations and be enjoyable.

Congrats on the stomach muscles!

Hi, Chynna! (OK, just wanted to bump my thread up a bit before it wound up on the second page!)

Got my new pedometer, and have it all set with my weight and stride length. So far it's surprisingly accurate.

Exercise for the day: Did my wimpy running workout (gonna try again tomorrow instead of making it a walking day), plus the tape this afternoon and a whole mess o' stairs.

One hitch in this week's plan. Dentist called with an opening (I had to cancel an appointment the other day because I wasn't going to be able to leave work). So I'm not sure how I'll fit in my workout Friday (appt is at 8 a.m.). I'll have to get up awfully early, I guess, because I need to be all ready for work when I leave for the appt, so I can just swing by and pick up my friend right after and head downtown. I'm thinking if I get up at 5, I should be able to manage it. But ... ugh.

Getting up at 5 - that's dedication! Actually, even thinking about getting up at 5 to work out is dedication :) Thanks for encouraging me to workout in the mornings. I didn't end up doing a second workout this evening when I got home so it's a good thing I worked out this morning.

That happens to me all the time, which is why I try to always get the morning workout in. (And don't be too impressed yet. I haven't actually gotten up at 5 to do it! But I probably can't do the afternoon one Friday, and I KNOW I can't do it tomorrow, so it's either get up at 5 or don't work out. And with a week and a half of restaurant meals starting tomorrow night, I'll need every workout I can get!)

So OK, I'm committed now. Up at 5 on Friday to at least walk, if not run.

Hi Robin,
I am so excited that I can join all of you in excercising in a couple of weeks...Did you always have the desire to work-out? I am not an excerciser (by nature) for today and look forward the the energy that I will have when I can start !

Thanks for the inspiration !

Katesmom, I was a couch potato for 45 years. Even as a kid, I hated physical activity. So this is all pretty strange for me.

133.2 again today, with a very early morning (I guess getting up at 5 tomorrow won't be so hard; yesterday I was up at 5:30 and today I was wide awake at 5), a frozen LC panini last night for dinner and my third or fourth day of sandbox issues yet again (I'm reluctant to take Miralax again, because like all that stuff, just a dose or two pushes me over the edge too far the other direction; I'm more inclined to just wait it out).

Off to retry yesterday's running workout. No tape this afternoon, unfortunately, but I'll take the stairs again and do what I can. Dinner out tonight with my friend, so I'm going to cut back some during the day unless I'm starving.

Correction: After a visit to the sandbox, make that 132.2. Much better.

Warm-up walk, 5 minutes
Ran, 10 minutes
Walked, 5 minutes (supposed to be 3, but I needed a bit more recovery)
Ran, 10 minutes
Walked, 5 minutes

And my pedometer says I went farther than the treadmill says. Interesting.

You do plenty, Lizabette!! I'm interested to see what my step counter says, although missing the afternoon tape will cut the number by a couple of thousand. Especially since today is the 45-minute one with the jogging intervals. Oh, well.

Ugh. I just ate WAY too much. And let myself be talked into sharing a dessert I didn't even want. And THEN got harassed into eating more of it after I'd had a few bites and set down my fork.

Why, why, why?? No more after this. I do NOT like feeling like I need to unbutton my jeans to be comfortable.
