Hey Robin,

Hope your 20 minute jog went well today. Also good to know that you know the reason behind your slight increase to 134 so you know what to do about it. Hope your training session goes well today, too!

OK, this is why I work out first thing in the morning. By the time I had breakfast and let it digest a bit, I wasn't feeling the run plus I didn't have much time before my training appointment. So I'm going to try to do it tomorrow instead.

Otherwise, the day's going OK. Did my training (arms), then went to Kohl's to find an all-in-one thing for the purple dress. Got one that will work and is even comfy; it doesn't hold much in, just smoothes everything out. Unfortunately, they were having a big sale. And it was so nice and cool in there, I didn't want to leave and face the hot car. So I got some more tank tops plus a couple of purses. Oh, and some new sheets for the pet sitter. Sigh. The shopping has to stop.

Then I went to the supermarket and picked up the necessities (even stuff I normally get at Costco, because it's too hot to do both). But they didn't have the yogort flavors I like, so I'll have to stop somewhere else tomorrow.

Then I came home to kick back in the A/C. I don't like being this lazy, but it's just too darn hot.

Tomorrow I'm going to a movie (or maybe two; I have free passes) and then to get the yogurt and some dog food, and then I guess I'll be home again. Maybe I'll do some cleaning, which is what I SHOULD be doing.

133.6 after another frozen meal. Plus I think the heat is really affecting me; I probably should have had more water than usual to make up for it. Anyway, I tried to run this morning but my legs are pretty sore from Friday's gym workout (plus even with the air it's kind of hot in the house because I slept late) so I ended up walking instead. So to make up for it, I stayed on longer and walked 3 miles.

It's SO hot out right now. Texas hot. Sigh.

I already walked one mile and am about to go out with Paul and walk another 2. So 3 seems like a good number today!

A friend of mine from Houston called yesterday to complain about how hot it was there. Texas hot is no fun. Sounds like increasing your water wouldn't hurt especially if you have to be out in your car.

Enjoy your day!

Robin - I spent most of the 90s in Houston and Fort Worth so I know what you mean about Texas hot. It can be scorching there. It is very hot in MO these days too and everything is burnt to a crisp. It has been weeks since we had any rain and 3 weeks now of 100+ temps.

It just wears you out and there is no way I could walk outside right now. Thank goodness for treadmills!

Yeah, I didn't even go to the movies, because of the car situation. I just couldn't stand the idea of leaving my car in the hot sun for two hours or more and then having to get in it with no air-conditioning. So I just ran to the grocery store and back home.

I've gotten a few things done here, though, at least. Laundry, straightened a few rooms in preparation for my friend's visit and the pet sitter right after, got food ready for the week, baked brownies to bring to the office tomorrow (since I'll be in the Arlington newsroom instead of my regular office downtown). Couple more things to do, and then I can just relax for the evening. No workout in the morning tomorrow because I have to be at the dealership by 7:30 (and ready for work at that time, since they'll drop me off). And no tape, even, since I won't be downtown with the group. I'd say that I'll work out when I get home, but who am I kidding? I'll just make it my day off for the week.

Wow. Baking brownies. I am just NOT there yet. At least I don't think I am. I guess I could do it but once they were baked, they would have to be out of the house. I guess I'll never know how much I can handle until I test myself but my only experience with sweet foods in the house since MF'ing have been bulimic episodes. So not right now...I was able to be at a party with sweet food but not here.

Well, remember, I'm on maintenance. So I could actually HAVE a brownie if I really wanted it. I'm not having any, though. I had one lick of the spoon to test the batter, and that's it. My birthday's in three weeks, so THAT'S when I'll have a little dessert.

I baked a lot while on the program, though. The key for me was to not cut into anything, and just bring it into work (and never make cookies, because you could eat them and no one would know they were missing; you can't cut a hunk of cake without people noticing). The thing is, on the program I was so overloaded on sweet stuff that the baked goods didn't even appeal to me all that much most of the time. I was always looking for fewer sweet supplements and more soups and such.

132.4 (with very little sleep), which is a step in the right direction. Maybe I really WILL try to get in a walk after I get home tonight.

Nothing like a dip in the scale for a little motivation :) Hopefully you won't be too tired from the heat when you get home to walk. Have a great day :)

Teemu's doing great. That's the one positive right now. On the negative side, it'll cost $1700 to fix the A/C in the car, which is seven years old and has 70,000 miles on it already. So I'm thinking it might be time to just buy a new car and get rid of this one. But in the meantime, I'm stuck with no air-conditioning. Sigh. I'm SO not happy right now. :x

132.2. Got very little sleep last night, because I just couldn't turn my brain off. Struggled with c25k again today, too. Warmed up for 5 minutes, ran for 11, walked for 4, ran for a whopping 2 more, then walked the rest. Sigh.

Still sounds like an awfully lot of exercise to me. I suppose it is all relative.
