He's having two a day for one week, far less than my cousin's dog had and far less than my dog growing up had (he had dark chocolate, too, and a bigger piece than this every day for most of his 18 years - and he weighed less than half what Teemu does). I just looked online and the amount he'd have to eat at his size is 15 ounces of semisweet chocolate - there isn't anywhere near that much in his entire week's worth of mints. And they said the toxic element is diluted even further if it's in a chocolate used as a coating for some other filling. He'll be fine.

So last night I met the new pet sitter, and I LOVE her. In fact, we're already making plans to go out (her boyfriend works with me at the paper). She and the dogs hit it off great, so I'm thrilled. Then we went for dinner and I had Mongolian barbecue, including some noodles and I'm sure way too much salt and fat (plus I had Diet Coke instead of water, so I was short on my water consumption), but ... 133.8 again today. So yay, I guess. Plus the Tanita has had my body fat at its lowest so far, for the past two days (although I think that has more to do with water than anything).

Off to do my incline walking.

That all sounds wonderful! Congrats on a great evening and good weigh-in this morning.

I'm glad you had a good time with your new friend/pet sitter. It's so important to have someone you trust watching your kids. If you have to be away from them, the last thing you want is to have to worry if they're being taken care of properly. I really do understand your feelings about your dogs - even if my particular leanings are felines - everyone told me when I had a baby I wouldn't love the furry kids as much - WRONG!

Thanks, guys. I wouldn't say it was a GOOD weigh-in, though, considering I'm still up from where I normally am (and where I want to be). But it's lower than I expected. And I didn't go crazy at dinner or anything, just ate without thinking too much about what I should or shouldn't have, which was nice for a change. (Plus it was also one of my heavier workout days, so that probably helped some.)

Back to normal today. Did the incline workout this morning, will probably not have time to do the tape this afternoon, but will go to the gym tonight despite the overwhelming misery of being in my car right now.

See, that's the dedication I'm talking about. Suffering in your hot car to go the gym. I would find the quickest way home and think about the gym later!

I'm determined. Plus at least the gym is cool. And once I work up a sweat, maybe the car won't seem so hot!

But I think after I get the dogs fed, I'll take a nice shower and just veg all night in the A/C. I'm going to try to do all my weekend errands as early or as late as possible tomorrow to avoid the heat as best I can. Although at least I can wear shorts and a tank top when I'm out.

Right now I'm just glad I'm not lugging around those 70 extra pounds anymore.

I know!! You guys would be so proud of me. I went sleeveless and tank-y the past three days at work, and that was BEFORE the air-conditioner went out. And with no hoodie over them (although today I have one on because it's chilly in the office).

Robin - since I have about the same amount to lose as you already lost I am wondering about your arms... If this is too personal just say so but I am wondering if I will be able to bare my arms again. Did you do resistance for your arms?

TIA

Hi, Hope. I didn't do much exercise at all when I was on the program (and would not have bared my arms when I finished), but I lift weights now. As heavy as I can manage. (And these guys will tell you, pretty much NOTHING is too personal for me. )

Whoa. I was a little bothered when I saw 134.0 on the scale (but again with the body fat down a couple of percentage points), but then I looked at FitDay and realized I'd eaten too few calories and WAY more sodium than normal. For two days in a row on the sodium, so no wonder. Between the sodium and the lifting and the heat, I'm surprised I'm not higher!!!

Today I'm going to try eating breakfast before working out, and I'm going to give the 20-minute run a try. I'm not feeling very confident, though, or even very motivated for some reason. Anyway, after that I have a session with the trainer, and then I'm going to run a couple of errands as quickly as possible so I can get home to the air-conditioning.

Looks like you have a busy day. I hope it's a good one. I am walking to Starbucks and CVS then calling it a day for outside things even if I am finished by 9:30am! I have lots to read to keep me busy and I need to do some journaling.
