Hey Robin,

That guy is creepy. I hope this was his last (sad) attempt to win you over and that he told himself if you didn't respond this time that he would leave you alone for good.

I went to Borders yesterday evening and I was shocked by all the Harry Potter stuff going on. The lady sitting in front assumed I was there to sign up to get my wristband to get in line to get my book. She was wrong. I just wanted a magazine.

Anyway, I hope the book is as good as all the hype! Have fun reading :)

uh... yeah. throw out the cookies. he'll be back. i know you don't believe me, but i did say it would take a few weeks to make sure it was done.

if you really don't want anything to do with him, you can try to lay low and see if he just gives up. however, you should keep the notes. if you have hard copies of you telling him to go far away, put those in the same envelope; give them to a friend. not because he's going to get all violent on you, but because... well, people are freaking nuts.

if you get the feeling he's checking up on you or will not go away if this latest act elicits no response from you, send him a certified letter (to his office) that advised him you will obtain a restraining order if he so much as thinks about you.

in the meantime, keep enjoying your hot self. keep working out; keep feeling good about yourself. don't let this behavior feed your own issues, and recognize that this is all about some crazy ass**** that is so insecure he can't live with the thought of being alone.

The cookies are in a sealed package, so I think they're fine. They're even vegeterian (Teemu's seemingly allergic to animal proteins). But no, I'm not letting any of it get to me. I do think it's probably his one last-ditch attempt and I'm just not going to respond in any way. If he contacts me again, though, I'll take action. The letter was pathetic, but not threatening in any way.

Anyway, 133.2 today. My eating was a little off yesterday, with extra sodium (OK, yeah, because I couldn't tear myself away from the book to get to the supermarket). AND I missed my training appointment at the other gym - it's farther away than I thought, and I actually took a wrong turn and got lost going over there. So by the time I straightened myself out, I would have missed most of the appointment anyway. And then I was too engrossed to even do the workout at home. I'm done with the book, though, so I'll be doing the treadmill this morning and the weights later on. And the grocery shopping.

And shocked by the Harry Potter goings-on? With all the publicity? I would have been surprised by any bookstore NOT having something. Even Wal-Mart and the grocery stores here were advertising that they'd be selling the books at 12:01 a.m. I was a bit surprised by the people in there who hadn't come for Harry, actually. I could see stopping in earlier, but there were people there at 11 p.m. or so battling through the crowds. I'd have picked another night if I were them.

Oh, and the book was great. She went on a little too much explaining Harry's feelings sometimes, I thought, but otherwise I enjoyed it and it went very quickly. I won't say anymore, though. Don't want to give anything away.

132.8. What a day yesterday. Got back from my errands and my cable was out ... for me, that means no TV, no Internet and no phone!! And of course the cable people are zero help, so I still have no service and they're saying they can't send someone till Saturday. I'm SO glad I had already planned to change services and get U-verse (even though I swore I wouldn't deal with AT&T ever again).

I'm going to see if I can bump up my appointment.

You're in maintenance, Chynna, aren't you? So you must be a pretty darn good size already! (Remember, you're not a midget like I am!!)

It's going to KILL me to go without all communication at home this week. I was actually able to move up my U-verse appointment to tomorrow, but then wasn't able to get the day off (or come in late) because someone else is out. Forget that I filled in for six weeks while my teammate was out with personal issues, and am STILL taking the bulk of the load for her. I am NOT a happy camper right now.

132.8 still. Sigh. And cable everything is still out. And last night my mail included a postcard from everyone's favorite nutcase, addressed to the dogs (and sent from Orlando, where he had a business trip and where he apparently picked up the Disney dog treats he left on Friday). He mentions the treats in the postcard (says he dropped them off, even though he hadn't yet), which means he planned to come by with them.

I'm waiting till Saturday to hear what's up with my cable. Because if it was cut or something, I'm getting an order of protection. I have no proof he did it, but I think I have enough to get the order, at least.

Robin, it may be time to send him a registered letter with a cc to someone you trust (friend, attorney) that you are telling him once again not to come to your house, not to contact you in any way and that his gifts/letters are unwanted. Make it so that he has to sign for the letter and with the CC he'll know that someone else has proof that it was in writing that he is to stop all contact. It may be enough to get him to stop without having to take legal action against him.

Sorry to read that you are continuing to have him butt into your life.

Yeah, Alex suggested that, too. I was going to give it one more chance. Although not if my cable was tampered with (but I don't know that it was; for all I know, it's something to do with all the rain and flooding we've had).

Meanwhile, I seem to not quite be a fat-burning machine yet. What's up with that?? But one of my basement workout buddies commented yesterday that I'm looking more and more buff. I AM seeing muscles emerging again, but I'd still love to see that scale drop a bit. And the tummy shrink some more (and no, I'm not losing my new confidence; I still look great - I just could look even better).

That's just great. I just put in a call to Curves, got voicemail, and am gong to check that out because I really need to add some weight training and structure. Plus it's almost a 2 mile round trip to get to it. Right across from Curves is a place called G.I. Jane Bootcamp that is a little out of my league physically I think. First, custom sports bra. Then Curves. THEN Bootcamp.

Robin,
I'm just catching up on your journal. I'm so sorry everyone's favorite nutcase has shown his face again...Hope he gets over it soon, but I do like T and Alex's idea!

I must tell you that you are inspiring me to put a selection in my suitcase! A selection of what you ask? Pilates, hip hop abs and a cardio DVD, so I thank you!

Ha. Good deal, DeDe. I just got back from doing our afternoon tape (although I added weights because I wanted more of a challenge).

And Biki, that's great about Curves. I've heard really good things about it, especially for beginners (the one criticism is that you can't advance beyond a certain point because their machines don't adjust, but that's nothing you'd need to worry about yet). And the boot camp sounds like it's beyond ME, too!! I've been really, really wanting to try one, but I think I might cry.

LOL

You're no nutcase. Besides, we're GLAD when YOU show up again. Not so much with him.

So I won tickets from work to see "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" tonight. What's weird is everyone I know is busy and can't go. Sigh. I'm still going, though - I'm tagging along with someone else who won tickets (and her significant other, whom I haven't met). We're gonna go to dinner and then walk over to the show.

And yes, I already looked at the restaurant Web site to see what I can eat. And it's a VERY helpful site. You can call up a list of menu items that are low-fat or low-carb or high-fiber or under 500 calories. So there are actually several things I can choose from that are under 300 calories (which is about my dinner size) and low to moderate in fat and low in carbs. Not even just grilled chicken and steamed veggies. Now I just need to make sure that's what I order. :)

I agree with this, Robin. I've only been at Curves for 2 months but I know it is not a long term solution for me. I'm glad I changed my membership to a student membership so that I only paid for 90 days. After that, I'm going to start taking advantage of the tons of courses offered here on campus. I'm also thinking of trying the Monkey Bar Gym. (www dot monkeybargym dot com). Looks like fun!

Oh, and I've looked for some workout dvds a couple of times now and I've been disappointed at the selection. Of course, I was only looking in the bookstore and one other place, but I was wondering if you had one to recommend. Thanks!
