You seem to be losing weight pretty easily, Nickie, considering you lose even when you don't stick to the program so well. So I don't think your metabolism is an issue. I had trouble losing even while ON the program, because I'd already been eating only about 1,000 calories per day (and low-carb) before Medifast.

Not that I want to discourage anyone from checking it out as a maintenance plan. Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. Online only (no actual bookstore-type book; it's strictly downloadable).

Thanks, Hol.

OK, I can't believe no one's said anything about the indoor skydiving.

Thanks, T. Doesn't it? I'm guessing I'll be petrified, but I'm going through with it anyway. Heck, it'll be my birthday!

Hey I have a friend that did indoor skydiving for his 60th birthday. Maybe even the same place since he was in Colorado. He loved it and got some really cool pictures. I wanna do it!

When is your birthday? Mine is the August 19th but I'm sure I am waaaay older than you. I am in to celebrating birthdays but haven't decided yet what to do.

There are only a couple of places in the country where you can do it, so I'm guessing it was the same place, Mickey. Outside Denver, just about 10 minutes from my cousin's house (and my old house, too).

Mine's Sept. 2. I don't know that you're WAY older; I'll be 46 (I just sound young because I'm so immature). It's the same weekend as my cousin's daughter's bat mitzvah, though, so unfortunately I'll only get to celebrate briefly (the skydiving, then dinner with the extended family, then I'm hoping a comedy club or movie or something with just a couple of family members and one of my best friends, who lives out there).

OK, well I'll be 55, but you LOOK so much younger. Maybe when I post my 30# pictures in a few days I will look younger too! :D

See, I think you look about the same age as me, personally. Maybe a few years either way, but not much.

I get that a lot, though. I attribute it to my lack of husband and kids. And my lack of maturity.

I think indoor skydiving would be the only kind I'd ever try. Isn't that where big fans push you up? I think that would be OK, because you wouldn't be thousands of feet up in the air, and it would probably feel more like you were being pushed up than like you were falling. Be sure to tell us how it goes in a couple of months - maybe something I could do for my 30th birthday someday....

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I would assume there are fans.

Anyway, 133.2 today for some reason. I'm not going to worry about it, and I'm sure it'll drop back down again. I AM going to take the day off the treadmill today, though. Been having a problem with my leg (I don't know what it is, but I seem to get the exact same thing every year about this time; it's been hurting for a while, so I think a day off is in order).

I realize the bounce is just salt (or possibly the Aleve I took last night for my leg, which always seems to cause some bloating for me), but I also noticed that my calories and fat have dropped down a bit the past few days. So I'm going to make a conscious effort to keep them up where they should be.

And I'm thinking about calling my doc for my leg. It's been getting worse for the past couple of weeks, and it's ridiculous that I go through this pretty much every year and haven't had it diagnosed. I was hoping the regular exercise would help, but apparently not. I could barely stand up last night.

OK, I finally called and am going to see the nurse practitioner at 1. Kind of inconvenient since I'll have to leave work and come back (on our busiest day, and the doc's office is about half an hour from here), but it was the only time they could see me and I'm tired of suffering.

It's weird. I've gotten it every summer for the past three or four years. So bad I can barely stand sometimes, and I don't know what it is. But I can SEE a big bulge on the side of my leg.

I haven't wanted to lay off the workouts because I figure since I had the same exact problem before I started working out, they probably aren't related.
