I'm so jazzed! I've just been eyeballing the low-fat mayo lately instead of measuring it out. But tonight I measured it because I was making BFFM (Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle) friendly egg salad (one whole egg, three whites) as a little change from chicken breast for lunch tomorrow. So I've been shortchanging myself on the mayo all along. Very cool.

And I'm jazzed about the egg salad, too. I don't think I've had any since I started Medifast, so two and a half years. Geez. I think next will be tuna salad, with just the egg white instead of the whole egg thrown in.

134.6 after some extra sodium last night (and my usual sandbox ... lull, I guess I can call it). Usual workouts today, except for some reason I was really lagging on the treadmill, so I did the Shape workout, but lowered the speed on some portions.

yum, egg salad :)
Robin, when I was an athlete, I loved my egg whites. In fact, my day did not start right if I did not have 5 egg whites.
Want to tell you I really enjoy reading about your workouts and your great info you impart to us.
muchas gracias.

Yeah, the other morning I had one whole egg and a few egg whites, "fried" in olive oil spray, with spinach and red onions and a bit of low-fat feta, instead of my usual Egg Beaters fritatta. What a treat! I'm going to start having egg whites more often, I think.

Argh. And I just remembered this morning that I have to go to kind of a potluck thing tomorrow night after work. Which means I need to figure out something to bring that's quick and easy and that I can eat. The hostess is making brisket, so I'm thinking I need a veggie to go with that. But I'm not sure what to bring (usually I'd do my spinach-feta pie, but squeezing all that spinach is too much work). Maybe my mom's Greek-style green beans (with tomatoes and garlic and oregano?). I dunno. I'm tempted to do my roasted green beans, since I eat 'em almost every day, but I'm not sure anyone else would like them.

I'd go for those roasted green beans. I took roasted asparagus to a recent family gathering and it was the first dish emptied! People who normally did not eat asparagus were eating it. So, I'd say take the green beans...you will love them and my guess is that others will also.

You are making me hungry. I am so happy that MF has the scrambled eggs - I too like egg whites or egg beaters. When I used to go out for breakfast and order an omlet I always asked for egg beaters - and there were times I had to send it back because you could tell they were made with eggs - by the look and the taste.

Keep up the good work on the exercising. You are doing so well. Have you ever looked at the exercise sheets on the Body for Life site. Those are the ones I use when I am working out full swing.

Have fun at the potluck. Any news on the boyfriend front? I miss your stories....it's almost like a soap opera fix - and that is not meant in a bad way. You just lead an interesting life.

Ha. It was only interesting for a brief time there. Usually it's more like this - work, gym, home, work, gym, home.

I made the mistake of mentioning the spinach pie to my friend, so I think I have to make that now. But maybe I'll make some green beans, too; they're quick to make and that way I know I'll have plenty to eat.

I've seen the BFL sheets; they're similar to the ones I was downloading and using from another site. But I want a little spiral notebook like these, which just seem very convenient. Plus I already ordered them, of course.

Sorry about making folks hungry, btw. They didn't have the Medifast eggs when I was on the program, so I've never even tried them. But the joy of the regular eggs the other day was I got to have 'em sunny-side-up instead of always having scrambled because of the Egg Beaters. What a treat. As was the egg salad today. Couldn't even tell that it was mostly egg whites.

Hey Robin,

Is the device you're talking about that gives calories burned a heart rate monitor? I have one made by Polar that I like. I'm not sure if what you're describing is something different, though.

Good foody ideas, ROBIN.
I went you one better on the fudgecycles (40 cal.) I dip in free coolwhip, (like you) and then roll it in a little crushed granola.
Back in the freezer until ready to eat. Yeah, yummy.
I think I will start eating the egg whites also for protein at breakfast, with my oats. I may need that, with the exercise every morning.
Anyway, thanks for all the gooooooood recipe ideas.

Glad to help, Lizabette. And no, Queenie, this is something else. It's called a BodyBugg. It doesn't just measure heart rate, it measures the heat your body gives off, which is what "calories" are, so it's supposed to be much more accurate.

Well, a calorie isn't quite as simple as the heat your body gives off, but I went to the BodyBugg website to find out more about the science. I like that it measures your calories throughout the day so you know what you're burning even when you're resting. Looks interesting, but for $400, I think I'll stick with my heart rate monitor :)

Yeah, Adam (my friend's boyfriend) got his through his gym, so it was about half price, I think. But still more than I want to spend (plus he belongs to a different gym). But I WANT one.

Thing is, I don't want to know what my heart rate is or how much I burn when I'm exercising. I really want to know what I burn all day long, so I can figure out how many calories I ought to be eating (since that still seems to be an issue for me). I wish I could just borrow one for a couple of weeks.

I agree with you, Robin. It sounds like it would be most useful to know what you're burning throughout the day. Just last week I was thinking how useful a device like that would be and now that you've shown me one, I can't afford it :)

Maybe the price will come down. Is there something similar on the market? The BodyBugg website says there isn't but I would expect them to say that. I hope you get to review one for your paper so you can let us know what you think.

Robin ~ there are 5 of these devices on auction right now on eBay.
The bidding closes on one in 2 hours and 35 minutes, and the current bid on it is $187.
Of course, there's no telling how high it'll go, but you might want to check 'em out...
sounds like a neat little gadget.

Hasta!

QUEENIE,Sorry to jump in on ROBIN's post, but I was impressed with the
"100 Days Challenge" cheat free motif. Did you create that? Smart girl!
Are you sharing that with the others who are taking the challenge?
What a neat idea!
Back to ROBIN...Hope you're able to find your energy devise.
