Yeah, my T-shirts are sometimes a bit looser, but nothing else. Never baggy, though, like I used to wear them.

I hope this program works, because I really like what this guy has to say.

Great. I hear it's like a monsoon in my area. Half an hour before I'm supposed to head home.

Hey Robin,

I hope you made it home without having to swim. I did the Shape incline walk workout again Sunday plus some additional inclined walking. Have you noticed a difference in your glutes? I'm only doing it once a week, so I don't expect to notice anything anytime soon. Just wondering what your experience has been.

Hard to say, Queenie, since I do so much else. I do see a difference, but it could be because I returned to the gym, or because I started doing a separate glute/abs workout a few times a week or because of the Shape workout. I'm really doing it more for the high calorie burn than anything else.

135.0 today with some sandbox issues (so probably a little lower). Which is good, since it means I'm pretty much back down from my meal the other night. Off to the treadmill.

Robin,

I'm with you re: the close fitting clothing. I spent so many years in baggy clothes that now, I feel fat in loose fitting things. I find that I don't have much leeway. If I gained 10 pounds, I would be out of a wardrobe.....that I spent mucho buckos on, I might add. A few pounds makes a difference and the clothing is a constant reminder that I just don't want to go there at all!

Edited to add:

At first I was trying not to focus so much on my food. I thought it would be healthier to put it on the back burner. But I have found that if I DON'T focus on food, I lose control. It's gradual, but before I know it, I'm eating little bits of stuff I don't need. I will have to keep food in the front of my brain for the rest of my life and for me that's what works.

Robin- What's the best thing I can do without access to a gym for my abs? I always had a flat stomach when I was skinny but never because I had toned abs, I was just thin. I know some of my ab problem is the fat which can be burned through aerobic exercise unless it is lose skin (haven't gotten there yet but a matter of time)but they are also very weak. What do you recommend? Is there a DVD or an exercise? A few suggestions would be good along with the one that works best for you.

Hard to say, since I'm still struggling with my abs, too. I have increased my strength there, though, since I started with ZERO ab muscles. A lot of it IS just a matter of burning fat, but I really started noticing a difference when I started doing Tae Bo Abs. It's got a floor routine at the end that I've only recently started doing; the rest is all standing ab work (lots of knee lifts and twists and stuff like that). The Walk It Off With George abs workout seems pretty good, too, with similar kinds of stuff. I'm not sure how any of it would go with your back issues, but they might be worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will go on Amazon and read the reviews. Sometimes that helps.

Hi Robin - just wanted to stop in and say hi. The article you posted has been ringing in my head the last couple of days. Thanks again for sharing it. I really need to look at this issue and find other ways of dealing with it.

Glad to help, Sue. The good thing about Medifast is it gives you time to work on that kind of stuff while food isn't really part of the equation.

And Biki, have you looked at Collage Video online? They give very detailed reviews of workout videos that are very helpful.

Well, I'm no Lauren, but I try. :)

I'm starting to feel a bit like a jock. You wouldn't believe how many weightlifting and fitness magazines are spread around my house.

134.2. Did the Shape workout, but added 8 minutes. I don't know whether I'll do a tape at work today, because we'll be trying to finish up as early as possible. But I'm planning to go to the gym afterward (I'm assuming it's open at least weekend hours).

Kind of like the cycling, running and yoga magazines around my house. All my husband's! I ignore all of them except to see the cool advanced pretzel poses in the yoga mag.
