No Hip Hop Abs for me. I'm too old and uncoordinated for that!!

Sigh. 134.4 again. I'm taking a day off from the treadmill. No free meal tonight, though. I'm going to eat as healthy as I can, wherever we end up going in OKC (but I really want to go to this place called Crabtown; my friend says she doesn't like seafood ... argh).

OK, so it WAS a free meal last night, for a variety of reasons (and none of them good). Didn't get home till 12:30 this morning. Spent 10 1/2 hours with a friend who talked nonstop about herself (or complaining about everyone and everything else). Up a couple of pounds today, but that was expected. I just hope that this week I drop down and then lose some more, instead of spending all week losing those same 2 pounds. Sigh.

Instead of my treadmill workout, I'm going to try to do the Slim in 6 workout - finally. Although I feel a bit dehydrated, so I'm not sure how well I'll do. I'm also going to try to get to the gym, although after only five hours of sleep and such a long day yesterday, I'm not sure I have the energy.

Slowly dropping back down from my bounce yesterday. I'm hoping I drop down more than just the same 2 pounds and actually LOSE something this week; if not, it may time for ... I don't know, but something.

OTOH, my jeans are looser straight out of the dryer than they have been in ages.

Oh, and did my Shape workout, plus a few extra minutes at the end. (And for Chynna, the Slim in 6 workout was fine yesterday. I actually had no problem getting through the whole thing (except a couple of the floor abs exercises at the end, but I used to not be able to do ANY of those). Only soreness today is in my shoulders - I actually think it's not enough of a legs or cardio workout for me anymore. Go figure.

I have a friend exactly like that! She does have a lot of problems so I just let her talk and talk. She is upset because she is having to work and catch public transportation because she took too much Ambien during the day and hit another car. But she is totally playing the victim.

Yeah, mine is underemployed right now. But it's because she was forced out of one job and fired from the next one. Sigh. I don't mind so much when we go to dinner or something, but this was more than 10 hours, most of it sitting in a car together. Not even any music playing.

Anyway, I'm feeling a bit better about things. I reread the chapter on repairing damaged metabolisms, and the guy says it'll take at least three weeks to see anything at all, and six to eight weeks to really get it going. I just started my fourth week. So I'm hoping I start to see at least a little bit of progress soon. I'm a tiny bit under his minimum calorie count, but I think I'm close enough given my (advanced) age and (lack of) height.

Mine is a former radio/tv producer working at Starbucks and is so bad at making the drinks they keep her on the register. I would not say you have an advanced age! Is that like when you have a baby at age 35 and they call you elderly? Good luck on the program! Okay, you KNOW I have to ask....romance front?

Zippo. Which is fine by me right now. I'd rather focus on ME for a bit, you know? Not to mention bonding with Mojo and paying more attention to Teemu. Neither one of 'em got as much from me as they should have back when I was gone every weekend. And my house is still a wreck.

Plus I don't want to go out just to go out with someone. Unless/until I meet someone I actually WANT to spend time with, I'd rather just hang alone or with friends.

And advanced age as far as a slowed metabolism. I'm about to turn 46, and went through early menopause YEARS ago, so pile that on top of the dieting history, and I probably don't require all THAT many calories. But I'm only maybe 50 under his minimum for women, and I figure there are probably a few things here and there that I don't count (mustard, the roasted peppers on my roll-ups, cooking spray, even my Cool Whip Free).

I have worked with your pics both in leopardizing, turning you into Rita Hayworth and erasing whatshisface. I just don't think of you as that age! I understand now though with the plan.

At my friend's engagement party, her teacher asked if the friend and I went to school together. My friend is 29. Heh.

ROBIN, This is good to read and reread. I think most of it fits me, and that is good to know.
Thing is, we will have to always be aware and conscious of everything!
That can be tough when we realize it is for a lifetime!
Anyway, thanks for the information. Keeping informed is another thing that is important.
Here are excerpts of what most impressed me:

70% of relapsers ate unconsciously in response to emotions.
Maintainers, on the other hand, were vigilant and conscious of EVERYthing:
They were conscious of the quantity and type of food they ate
They were conscious about the amount of activity that they needed personally to maintain their weight
They consciously worked to “keep in shape” after they reached their initial goal
They were conscious that they felt uncomfortable in their clothes after they gained even a little weight such as a few pounds after a vacation
They intentionally wore close-fitting clothes to keep themselves aware of their bodies, which prompted them to exercise more eat less if their clothes felt tighter.
From these findings emerge two of the very first steps that are absolutely necessary for you to end emotional eating and prevent diet relapse:
1. Develop greater conscious awareness
2. Develop alternative behaviors and coping mechanisms for dealing with stress and emotions
It takes courage to directly confront your problems and strength to overcome them, but you can’t even begin to solve a problem unless you are aware you have one. It all begins with AWAREness.

I have found myself doing this a lot. The only baggy clothes I wear are to bed.
