Yeah, I know what he looks like! We could track him like the weasel he is...he is now just being manipulative and childish.

I know. I'll tell him that when I call (although it won't be till next week; I'm giving it another day or so, plus I want to call when he's not there and just leave a message).

As for the rest, I didn't weigh this morning. Went out for dinner last night with a new friend. I actually did OK on food - not ideal, but pretty OK on my maintenance plan. Two problems, though: One was that I didn't work out at all yesterday, because we were so shorthanded I couldn't do do the afternoon tape. And two, I had a margarita at dinner. I hardly ever drink, but she had said they were really good - and cheap, and she was right. Yummm. I know any gain is temporary, though, and I'm not going to react by cutting back on calories or anything today. I got up and ran, and we're doing the tape this afternoon (the 3-mile; they did the 2-mile yesterday since I wasn't there), and I'm going to eat my normal food all day.

I love margaritas although I guess the idea is that I never have one the rest of my life. I guess one day I can have a virgin one. I had a great mango margarita one time I was in Austin, hating it.

Ha. Good to know Austin has SOMEthing to recommend it.

I hardly ever drink (maybe once or twice a year), which is why I figure it's no big deal. One margarita's not going to kill me. And it was delicious, so there couldn't have been much alcohol, even. Probably plenty of sugar in the mix, though (it was the blended kind; I can't stand the regular ones). Mostly I just love the salt on the glass.

Anyway, back to normal today. Got a good run in this morning, and even though we're short AGAIN today, I'm going to do the basement workout anyway. Interestingly enough, even with eating out, I was pretty close to target yesterday except for the drink, which put me over.

I can stand talk of alcohol. It is all over TV, at almost every store and restaurant. The compulsion to drink has been removed from me today and is contigent on the maintenance of my spiritual condition. But thanks for worrying about me.

I'm FUMING. But you guys would be proud of me. He called me. At work. Said he was going to be near my house and could he come and bring the tickets and see the dogs. I said no. He kept asking. I said no, and I need to work, and just leave the tickets in my mailbox or at my door. He starts saying how he knows why I broke up with him, and it's this one conversation we had about politics ... and I cut him off and said it wasn't one thing. He asked again to come by so we could talk. I said no. He said, "You don't ever want to talk to me again?" I said no, not really. He said, "You must have found someone else already." I said I'm not even going to answer that. He said his usual, that he's stupid. I didn't respond for a second and then said I need to work and he should just leave the tickets at my door in my mailbox, and he finally said he wouldn't bother me again and hung up.

Good for you Robin! I'm eager to hear if he really does leave them -- I hope so.

I'm assuming he'll still try to catch me when I'm home, even though he knows I don't answer my door. I'll be looking for his car when I get home all weekend, though. And I swear, if I catch him hanging around waiting for me, I'll call the cops. I've made it clear that I don't want to talk to him and that he's not going to see the dogs.

Oh. My. God. So he left me a note (written like a fourth-grader) and some more presents he supposedly ordered before we broke up. No tickets. He asked me to give him five minutes so he can get "closure."

I e-mailed and told him I thought breaking up in person and spending over an hour that night talking to him and answering his questions was all about closure, and there's nothing else to say. And to please e-mail me the tickets as soon as possible or give them to the guard at my office in an envelope for me as soon as possible.

Unbelievable.

Darn him!

It might be time to pull out the big guns and let him know that if the tickets aren't in your possession by a certain time (you specify) and if he contacts you again, that you'll be letting the police know that he is harrassing you? Maybe that will get him to go away? Do you think he is scary weird or just unable to walk away yet?

this is called escalation.

it's actually a pretty predictable pattern. this kind of behavior usually ends in violence in longer relationships, because the person is so afraid of being alone that they will do anything to keep the other person from moving on. I'm extremely thankful that you did not continue to date this guy.

i don't know how much the tickets are, but i would consider it a small price to pay for getting him out of your life.

I would, but the show is sold out. Not to mention the principle of the thing.

And no, I don't think he's scary-weird. Just unable to let go, and unbelievably desperate. If I don't have the tickets by Monday, I'm going to file suit. Or ask the cops if I can report it as a theft or fraud, since he cashed my check.
