Don't go getting ahead of yourselves. We haven't even gotten past e-mail. And if he doesn't say something remotely funny or even lighthearted soon, I'm done. I learned THAT lesson.

Meanwhile, I'm feeling much better after my run - and after trying on my smallest jeans and finding out they still fit just fine. So maybe I'm gaining muscle and the spread isn't as bad as I think it is. Not that I don't still want to lose it.

Thanks, Biki. It was certainly a relief to find out they still fit. Even with my weight up, I must be doing SOMEthing right.

So now I still want to lose what I've gained and drop down one more size, but I'm not so freaked out about it. I'm just going to buckle down, keep my calories at the same level, watch my fats and carbs, work harder on my running, and get back to my lifting. And see if all that, plus just eating out less often (and less barbecue) will do the trick.

Robin, great on the skinny jeans!!! :D I feel like I've been stuck at the same weight and the same size forever (and it hasn't been forever at all). I am looking forward to the day that skinny looking jeans will fit on this body.

I really miss the progress (even though it was slow for me) I had when I was on the program. I'm so goal-oriented that it makes maintenance even harder. Sigh. But I'm giving myself new goals. I still want to drop a size, plus I want to really improve my running and lifting.

Today I ran half of my time. After a week or so, I want to walk 45 seconds, and run 75. I'd like to keep building up till I'm running the whole time except for the warm-up and cool-down. And then I can start increasing speed and incline. I definitely need goals if I'm going to make this work.

134.6, which is at least better than the 135.4 (!) it was the past two days. I also ran/walked 2.5 miles this morning (ran more than half of it for 30 minutes; the rest was warm-up and cool-down). Will do the 2-mile tape this afternoon. Food's been right on target (right now about 1,300 calories, 20 percent fat and about 30 percent carbs). Only planned meal out this weekend is dinner tomorrow with friends, and we're going for Indian food. So I'll stick mainly with tandoori stuff and probably cut back on carbs all day so I can have a little bit of naan.

E-mailed JDG (1.0) to ask whether he got my check. He said he did, and then said he's had two doctor appointments this week and is "really scared." I'm not getting sucked in, but I'm annoyed that he didn't say he'd SEND the darn tickets. I'm just not going to respond for a few days and see whether they show up. No mention of his friend who was supposedly in the ICU, either. Sigh.

But again, I went 2.5 miles this morning. Woo hoo!! I usually go 2 to 2.25 in about the same amount of time.

Argh. Got pulled into a meeting right when I was heading out to change for the workout, so I didn't get to do it. I'm going to try to do a tape or hit the treadmill or something tonight, but I make no promises. I know myself too well to really expect it.

Haven't talked to him. He gave me his cell number and I said I'd call Sunday, since I'm going out tomorrow night with friends and we all know I hate social contact after work. ;)

He definitely sounds interesting. I just hope he's at all funny. (Meanwhile, I got an e-card and was hot-listed by some other guy. In Austin. Talk about geographically undesirable.)

I realize you mean because he's far away, but do you like Austin? I think I'm the only person on the planet who dislikes Austin.

I've actually only been there once, years ago, for a job interview. Didn't get to see much of the town because I didn't have time. And then I ended up taking a counteroffer and staying where I was.

I hear great things about it, but mostly about the little music clubs, which really don't appeal to me. I like where I am right now.

Exactly, bars. They don't even have a Neiman Marcus so I couldn't see living there.
