I think they're so cute. They should have their own sitcom. The tension building slowly until it explodes. I can hardly wait!!!! :)

Speaking of cute, his aunt bought us both Cincinnati Reds shirts. And then went back to exchange mine when she found out I'm nowhere near a large (even the medium looks a little ridiculous on me; it's pretty much perfect to sleep in). I told him I really appreciate the gift, but the only way we can ever wear them at the same time is if for some reason we were AT a Reds game. I think he was a little surprised I was so opposed to the idea of matching outfits. PLEASE.

Same goes for our Zoo Run Run T-shirts after the 5K next week.

I hope you do well in the 5k next week. It sounds like you two are having fun discovering each other. My hubby does not like to walk so he would never go for a walk for exercise with me. It's funny b/c he is starting to try to lose weight and even road my old exercise bike - I should have taken a picture - that one is really for the memory books. And matching shirts - I agree with you - only at the game...LOL!!

I think he's disappointed, because we're both walking it, but we won't really be walking it together. It's going to be my workout for the day, so I can't just stroll along at his pace. But heck, I told him that from the beginning, so he didn't HAVE to agree to do it.

Meanwhile, weight's still up a little, but I'm trying not to worry about it. My eating's been fine this week, and I've done both workouts every day, so I'm trying to just be patient. I'm a little concerned, though, that my metabolism might be even slower than it was when I started. Because it seems like I have to keep my calories pretty darn low, even with all the workouts, just to maintain.

BTW, nice little NSV yesterday. My afternoon workout group was talking about the people in the other group, who are angry at us because we broke off to do a longer tape every day (I know, it's like high school). Apparently they're talking about us a lot. I said they can't be talking much about me, because they don't even know my name. And the others said they probably just call me "the little one." Heh.

Yeah. I just wish I FELT littler. Sigh.

Ah, well. Same weight today, but had extra salt at dinner last night (went out to eat), so I'm hoping that's all it is and I've actually started dropping back down. No run this morning because we're doing the 3-mile tape today, and I think doing both might be more than I can handle when I'm still cutting back on calories. Still on track to do 22 miles this week, if I do both workouts tomorrow (which I will) and run on Saturday morning.

Found another 5K I might want to do, too. A dog walk/run. I'd do it without the kids, though. Teemu's too shy and could never handle walking on a leash around all those people, and Mojo's still too excitable. (It's the week after the zoo run, though, so I don't know. I don't think I want to do a 5K every weekend!! But the dog one would be so fun. So maybe that one, and then no more for a while. It's going to be getting too hot soon, anyway.)

Yay. 133, so I'm dropping back down, finally. Ran this morning and plan to do the tape this afternoon. We're going to the downtown arts festival tonight, but I plan to be VERY careful about what I eat. There's supposed to be quite a bit of grilled stuff, so hopefully I can find something decent. If not, either we can stop at a restaurant nearby or I'll have a bar to hold me till I get home.

I'm still not happy about my level of calories, though.

Hiya. I started running about the time I reached goal, so ... since September or so? Although I took a few weeks off, when I kind of lost motivation (and use of a treadmill).

And no, I was most certainly not a runner before Medifast. I was a total couch potato most of the time, although I did go through a weightlifting phase a few years ago. Never, NEVER liked anything to do with cardio before, though. Now my day isn't complete till I've been drenched in sweat at least once.

And 133 would be great - if it weren't 3 pounds over my goal and 6 pounds over my low point. And 8 over where I'd REALLY like to be. I know it doesn't sound like a lot to people who still have a chunk to lose, but I know from experience how quickly a couple of pounds can balloon into whatever you needed to lose in the first place. Or more.

I know nothing about maintenance, Robin, so my 'hang in there' might not mean much. But I think YOU know a great deal about it, and will eventually find the magic combination to get yourself where you want to be with your workouts and your calories. And if more of us had fretted over having 8 or 10 pounds to lose, we wouldn't be in the position of having a chunk to lose in the first place!

So I see that you are now one of those thin people I used to hate because they are always saying they need to lose weight and I wonder if they own a mirror. But I also see the wisdom of that approach. I always thought skinny people said they needed to lose weight to get attention or to fish for compliments. And that might be true in some cases. But obviously they (and you) have learned a lesson I need to learn - that yes, 5, 8, 10 pounds IS a big deal and if you don't pounce on it right away, it becomes 50, 80, and 100.

At the risk of being redundant (who, me?) my point is that while my initial reaction might be to scoff at your 8 pounds over goal, I realize that you feel the same way about those 8 pounds that I do about my 80. So I shall scoff no more!!!

That's exactly it, Nickie. I felt that way about skinny people complaining, too. But I've learned to take every pound seriously. So I have no doubt I'll lose the 3 to get back to my goal weight. The other 5 would just make me more comfortable. :)

I DID just have another nice NSV. I was talking to a co-worker about fast food, and mentioned how much I've lost and how hard I work to keep it off. And she said she had no idea I'd EVER had a weight problem. Which is so cool. From the beginning, one of my goals was to have people not know I ever struggled, and to think I'm just naturally slim.
